Ruby was sitting on the couch, still in her nightgown, because her normal tight clothing was too painful to bear right now. She looked up when she saw him, her eyes still sunken and tired from the pain and exhaustion. She didn't look much like the happy girl who had gone to the dance a week ago.

"Hey," she said softly, cradling the cup of tea that Kerai had brewed her in her hand.

"Hey, yourself." Aaron said, his look of concern becoming more so as he took he appearance in. "You look like crap."

"Gee, thanks. Just what a girl loves to hear from a guy, you know."

"Yeah, I know. It's a miracle I'm still single." Aaron said. He walked over, sitting on the couch next to her. "I don't know if this will work or not, but I'm willing to try if you are."
