Hiro Nakamura could not stand it anymore.
Certainly, he had made sure Charlie was safe -- he could not simply leave her unattended to -- but he could not, would not, simply stay safe while others suffered if he might be able to prevent it. That is not why Godsend sat at rest within his room. It was not something he could simply look away from

She was the worst hero she'd ever met. She didn't like the life, she got no thrill from the work.
That didn't stop her from hovering over the zombie hoards, pushing them away from any living beings she could see. She'd seen the George Romeo films, she knew how zombies worked. Slow, shuffling, decayed, brain-eating things that were perversions of the people they'd once been.
She hadn't expected one to jump up and grab her, though she probably should have. Despite her heroic past, a very frightened scream sounded above the hoard of zombies, even as she pulled a metal shield around her body, to protect herself from infection.

He rushed it -- his illness had taken it's toll with his powers, but the strength of his arm was not affected at all. Godsend was the greatest of swords, able to remove heads and limbs without much effort.
"Miss! Miss! You alright?" He called, as he continued to clear the zombies away. "I am Hiro Nakamura! I am here to save you!"

This wasn't going to last long, though. She would have to take a page out of Hiro's book. "Lorna Dane. If we get out of this pack, I'll buy you dinner."
She didn't want to risk flying with a passenger if the zombies could jump. "I guess we're fighting our way out."
The metal she had been using to protect herself surrounded her in sharp little pieces. She kept them away from Hiro, clearing a path between herself and the man.

He knows that name! Thankfully, he does not have time to get distracted and being a raging fanboy, and instead points to the hotel. "We are not far! It is safe there!"
And starts slicing up zombies that might get in the way.

Even so, she's pretty tired from flying all day, and the zombies seem to be coming on even thicker than before. "I guess we're drawing attention."
It takes a lot of effort for Lorna to actually decapitate any of the zombies. She was just never taught to do it. But with the odds of survival without doing so shortening, she's not as upset about it as she was before.

"Hai--" he breathes out, and looks around. This was getting to be too much, and the noise of whirling metal was only bringing them more friends to play with. He'd have to end this quickly.
"Give me your hand, Lorna!" he said, extending his own. "I will get us free!"

"I'm at your command, Hiro."
What an appropriate name.

Then everything went quiet. The zombies stood like statues, rigor mortis taken to a new extreme. They were so still and silent, like horrible Halloween decor.
Hiro exhaled slowly-- blood was running from his nose. "Let's go. We get to hotel safely now."

Easier on him, too. She hasn't seen anything like this before. In all likelihood, this will be nightmare fodder for a week.
The important thing right now is to get Hiro and herself to safety. Everything else can be obsessed over later.
