It's been a while since I arrived and it was blood surrounding me--the blood from my clothing. This man has a burnt pattern that looks disturbingly like wings. My mouth is very dry as I step forward, speaking before I get too close.
"My name is Faramir, may I help you?" I'm not sure if I can.
If two upon arrival is enough, I can delete this. Since Faramir arrived back from the dead (other game) in the park, this is too surreal for him to pass up. If Gabriel wants to recognize his name, that's fine. Not sure how bad off you're playing him. I do watch Supernatural.
Gabriel groaned and peered up at the man, with a frown on his face.
"Help me? Naaahh.... I'm just peachy."
Sarcamn, probably not the best option. But he just got run through with his own sword by his brother. That would make anyone peeved. He felt around next to him and clutched said sword, slightly comforted by its presence. And that it was no longer stuck in his belly. That was nice.
"I don't mean to be rude or sound more foolish than I am, but you don't look it. I'm simply not certain what I could do to help." He has a sword now and I don't want to come too close.
"I could help you stand if you need it." I'm not exactly sure how to say it. "Are you injured? You might have been before, and it seems likely you were. But are you still? You might be healed."
I look sheepish.
"I can explain that. But if you are injured it's best to get you to the clinic as soon as possible."
"I should be dead." Gabriel muttered, "Got run through with this." he held up the sword. Only... his hand trailed his shirt, there was a hole, but underneath the shirt only a vicious scar.
Gabriel coughed, "Yeah... help up would be great, thanks."
"Many who arrive here were dead at home. My own brother was here after his death. He was healed and well when he arrived, as you seem to be." Physically well. "He had only physical scars, as you do. But not everyone here died before coming."
He has the look of Earth clothing, though the sword is incongruous with his attire.
"You are in the village of Haurvatat, a place where many of different times and places are brought. I am alive in my home though, as I said, many here are not. I cannot tell who is or isn't by looking." Perhaps some can.
"My name is Faramir and I come from the land of Gondor in Middle-earth. Most here come from Earth around the turn of the twentieth century." I nod at his ruined clothes. "You could, though I know enough that swords aren't the usual weapon there."
"Haurvatat?" Gabriel started to laugh despite the pain, as Faramir helped him up, "Of course. Of course I'm in Haurvatat."
He'd sent more than a few people here in his younger Trickster days, when he'd not been nearly as creative. Too bad that didn't mean he had any clues on how to get out. Well, aside from that whole 'learning' something deal.
"I'm from 2010... and no, swords aren't typical there. This is an Archangel's blade. My blade." he placed it in his jacket, he ran a tired hand through his hair, "My name's Gabriel..."
Angels I've heard of, and archangels too. The name Gabriel does actually mean something to me and my face likely pales. I bow swiftly.
"Pardon, Lord Gabriel. I know little of Earth and her religions, but I have heard of you. It is an honour to meet you and to help you, though it seems that you know where you are." He knows the name, if nothing else. "Is this place familiar to you, or is it the name alone that you know?"
Gabriel started to laugh at his formalness, then it hurt his stomach too much so he stopped soon after he started.
"No need for that Lord stuff... Faramir, was it?" he shook his head.
"I've... know of Haurvatat, but have never been myself. That I know of, of course. I know sometimes you can come here many times and forget you ever have, which seems pretty inane if your sent here to learn something only to forget it the second you leave."
I would be annoyed that he laughed except it seems to hurt him and I don't think it should. Do angels feel pain?
"Faramir. If you do not wish for a title, then I will not use one." I can certainly understand that.
"I returned home and remembered my time here though I've met people who've gone and returned and remember nothing. I went home and have no idea what it was specifically that I learned here to allow it." I've learned many things.
"Pardon me for asking, but are you well? We do not have angels in Middle-earth so I don't know what you might need." He's never been here. "Do you need medicine? Or I could simply show you to the hotel if you like. That is where we all stay."
"I'm just... sore. And feel like I got run over by a bus." Gabriel frowned, "My powers... they're-" oh, how he didn't want to admit this to anyone, "gone. I think I might be temporally human. And I think that I just need to sleep."
"I will get you to the hotel, where there should be a room waiting for you." I begin to walk not too quickly. "I will not tell anyone. As for never having slept before, I hope it is restful for you."
Sleep can be healing, though he might have nightmares as he just died.
"If you find yourself dreaming ill things, I can help you with that." I haven't needed the potion much of late. "There is something called Dreamless Sleep that I myself have used. It causes me to sleep for six hours. Most try to sleep for eight."
I'm not sure what he knows of that. Well, likely quite a bit even if not from personal experience.
"I hope that you will be yourself again when you wake."
Gabriel started to walk with Faramir. He doesn't bother telling the man that he knew a room would be waiting and that humans typical try and get eight hours of sleep, he was just too tired.
"Well, if I have any trouble sleeping, I'll hit you up for that Dreamless Sleep stuff. And... yeah I hope I'm myself when I wake too, but I somehow doubt it will be that simple..."
"It's seldom than simple for Mortal Men." Hopefully it is not so much more complicated for angels.
"Hopefully you'll be able to sleep well. I suppose it's hard to say when you've never done it before." This is so odd. "I've been here long enough that these conversations shouldn't throw me so badly. I simply couldn't imagine myself speaking so calmly to one of the Valar should they arrive here."
Angels aren't exactly the same, nor or gods, but they seem close enough.
"Pardon. You need rest and not my foolish wonderings. Fortunately, the hotel is not far."
"It's because I'm so personable." he gave a small cheeky grin. Gabriel looked ahead of them to see the Hotel close, "Oh good, because I want to pass out."
"You are. It seems a strange thing to me." Such a powerful creature is so... personable. "Do you practice? I would not know you were not an ordinary man to see you, but for the markings on the ground when you arrived. Even seeing that, I could not be certain--not in this place."
When he says he wants to pass out I look more closely.
"I've been among humans for thousands of years... I've picked up a few things." And more than a few bad habits.
Plus he'd been pretending to be Loki for several centuries. That had altered his personality, a bit. Not a lot. He'd always been something of a goof ball.
Gabriel took a tentative step up to the Hotel, "I can walk on my own. It's just that my entire body aches. I've never felt like this before. All... human-y."
"My name is Faramir, may I help you?" I'm not sure if I can.
