Busy Later, Calm Now [OTA]

Hiro knew that the after-school kids would swarm on New Comic Day, so everything had to be just right to handle the swarm; employees scheduled, manager on duty, someone upstairs manning the gaming goods. All that managerial stuff he was only passably good at. A display straightened here, a little clean up there. It'd all be ruined later by a throng of kids and Thursday would be spent on clean up -- but he liked having the place ready for the kids, looking good and full of four color promises.

But right now it was quiet. Quiet enough to skim a couple of issues as he straightened things up. He was doing fairly well, he thought, for someone who had superpowers killing him slowly. He had a WoW group, they were sporadically talking about tabletop gaming, and there were comics.

And of course, there was Charlie. That was like the perfect marachino cherry on his village sundae. Not everybody was so lucky as him -- and he knew he could lose her again -- but for now, he was happy.

Life was good.
