Reconnecting [Closed to Bobby]
Dean hadn't been checking the directory. He didn't really give a rat's ass about who came and went beyond the few he cared about. As for demons and angels, Dean kept an eye on Fangtasia and expected that Anna and Cas would tell him about angels. So, it wasn't until he got to the salvage yard and didn't see his dad that Dean thought to look. When he saw the name missing there he knew that his father had left the village.
On the one hand, Dean was relieved. He didn't have to worry about his father finding out anything about what would happen. On the other hand, it was his father and as dysfunctional as their life was it was all he had. Besides the man that really was a father to him. Bobby. Dean knew that he'd have to break the news that John was gone some time.
For now, Dean did what he always did. Ignored it and worked on cars.
