Castiel walked into the wafflehouse. He had no need to be in there, but he wanted something familiar. After being at many diners with Dean and Sam in the past, he figured this could be the closest thing.

He sat at a booth quietly, folding his hands on the table. Castiel figured this would be a nice place to sit and meditate as he shut his eyes.

Tiana approached the booth with a pot of coffee in her hands to offer to the newcomer but when she saw his closed eyes she didn't want to intrude. Instead, she grabbed a mug nearby and poured him a cup and softly set it down in front of him so as not to disturb him.

He opened an eye when he could sense someone's presence by him. "Hello," Castiel said calmly to the woman.

Tiana smiled sheepishly, "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to disturb you."

"You did not disturb me," Castiel told her with a hint of a smile.

"Would you like something to eat or were you just enjoying some quiet time?" Tiana asked him quietly, keeping her voice soft.

He thought about it for a moment. "It's not required for me to eat, but I believe I will. Do you have burgers?" That seemed like something humans enojyed eating.

"Sure we do. How would you like yours cooked?" She took out an order pad to write it down. When she put pen to paper, her brow knit. "I'm sorry. Did you say that you didn't have to eat?"

"Yes," he said looking up at her. "Angels have no need to eat."

He frowned at her first question. "...Cooked."

Tiana blinked in shock and shook her head as if to clear it. "I'm sorry. Did you say that you're an angel?"

"I did," Castiel stated calmly. People always seemed to be shocked when he told them, but Castiel wasn't sure why.

"I'm sorry." All of a sudden Tiana stood up a lot straighter, and awe was clearly written on her features. "But I always thought Angels had wings and halos."

"Angels do not have halos. I have wings, but you cannot see them when I'm in my vessel," he informed her.

"In your vessel? You mean this isn't you?" Tiana was confused. In the bible, angels looked like Heavenly Hosts with wings and flew. They didn't need vessels. Then again maybe the shepherds and Mary were more important than she was. It certainly made sense.

"My true form can be overwhelming to most humans." He frowned at the thought of Pamela, who burned her eyes out jus tby looking upon it. "My voice also." Dean had learned the effects of that. Such pain he's caused so many people...

"Some things are just too holy for us to be in the presence of." Tiana nodded. "It's an honor to meet an angel." She assumed that he was in the village on a mission from God.
