Ceridwen is only making one present, for Hurley. She carved and painted a songbird, and enchanted it to come alive when the word "Awake" is whispered to it, and to return to wood when the word "Sleep" is whispered. It was delivered to his balcony in a small bag with a letter just before dawn. If he saw her, she was in the form of a stork, flying off. The letter gives instructions, and wishes him a Merry Christmas, signed by Ceridwen.

Rainier is getting a gramophone and a few records of dance music from her own time, delivered to the dance studio. It will be waiting in his office when they return to business after the holidays, but her card will be delivered to his room by hotel staff Christmas morning, letting him know about the present.
