It said seize the day, pull the trigger - OTA (tag those he knows)

John had been struck by a wave of restlessness in the middle of the night and so had gone out walking. He was still strolling now, on his last cigarette and oddly peaceful. He'd watched the sun rise, considered going to find one of the people he'd accumulated in this town, but decided he was enjoying the solitude for the time being ( Read more... )

Greg had a bounce in his step as he entered the cafe. Last night with Elle was more than fun and he was still high on the energy which he was going to need today.

His body was still used to being up at night and sleeping during the day so he need some artificial energy now and since his Blue Mountain didn't follow him to the village he decided to brave the cafe.

Placing his order he moved to the side so that the man behind him could place his own order. He gave the guy a friendly smile. "Nice morning."

John gave him the once over (as he always did), and returned the smile, although his smiles always turned into smirks somehow. "Very nice morning."

Greg noticed the once over he was given and, yes, he preened just a bit. He was a flirt, with everyone and some would say everything.

Extending a hand he gave the man his own once over. "Greg Sanders. I just arrived here Monday, I think it was. Time kind of got away from me. I'm used to being up at night, this whole dimension traveling day living has really thrown off my internal clock."

Yeah, Greg was a talker.

Birds of a feather. John shook his hand. "John Hart. What kind of job do you have, then?"

He had accumulated her prior to the village, so it might not count, but if it did she was sitting at a table in the cafe (no doubt keeping an eye on Carolyn) and reading a novel while she sipped a cup of tea.

"Watchdog," he accused lovingly as he swung into the chair across from her.

"Ruff." She smirked.

"Clever," he said, stealing a sip of her coffee. "How's the mommy-to-be doing?"

It was counting down and getting close. The clock was ticking away to those last moments before people would know. Lore could sense it. Lore knew it. It would finally be time to show what all that hard work was for.

And then came his favorite distraction.

In the middle of speaking with a potential actress, he darted away and vaulted over the fence lining the theater steps so that he could catch up to John. "John!"

He would have rather used his real voice to call out to him. But not in public, it wouldn't do.

John turned at the sound of his name, but, as was expected, didn't recognize the voice until he saw Lore's disguised figure approaching.

"Doctor," he said amiably, exhaling a slow lungful of smoke.

He drew to a stop in front of him.

Well... now that he was here... he didn't know quite what to say.

Maybe. He shouldn't have been so happy to see a human. Not after what happened last time. But...

"It's good to- are you-" About ten sentences at once tried to compile themselves on top of one another. "Are you alright?"

"I'm not bad..." John eyed him suspiciously. It was unlike Lore to be so flustered. He stepped closer, frowning. "Are you all right?"

Most days Babe found himself up early for PT. Today was one of those days, his shirt sticking to his chest, his dog tags bouncing free as he worked his way back up to the hotel. Seeing John, he paused, ran a hand through his too-long red hair and waved. "Hey, you." Grinning, he closed the distance between them, "haven't seen you for a couple of days."

"Hey," he said cheerfully, letting the cigarette fall away from his lips. John watched a drop of sweat sneak down the redhead's brow, down the side of his face then then neck.

"Out early, huh?" He'd brightened when he'd seen John, his smile always enough to make him grin himself. "Had breakfast yet?"

"No, I was on my way," he said, "I was out walking last night, never really went to bed."

Desire was on its way back from Hidden Frank's, and it rubbed its fingers together considering that past few weeks. It was going over its time with John when it turned a corner and there he was.

Think of the devil.

"Hello love," he said when he spotted the alluring creature. He exhaled a slow cloud of smoke. "It's been a while."

Desire stopped and smirked slightly. Reaching into its pocket for its own cigarette Desire nodded. "It certainly has."

"What do I call you?" he asked, remembering the painful echo of his time with Desire at the sight of it alone.
