Not where I expected to be...(Arrival, OTA)

The wind had picked up as Caleb trekked across campus from the parking lot. It wasn't raining, at least not yet, but there was the threat of it in the air. He huddled down in his coat and picked up his pace a bit, eyes focused on the main building where his first class was. He wasn't running late, not exactly, but his mother had detained him a bit, looking him over searchingly as if trying to see if he'd been doing things he shouldn't, and he suffered through it because to argue with her would only incite further suspicions that he had been.

Speeding wasn't an issue of safety, not for him, but getting a ticket was still a pain in the ass, so now he was trying to make up the time with hurried steps, figuring he'd have to duck Pogue's knowing gaze, and wondering how much speculation there'd be in it. Those looks had proven too much, too quickly from Sarah. Every time he used, even a little, just a harmless touch, she stared at him with his mother's worried eyes until he found himself hounded by it. She'd gone through too much. His mother was right. He shouldn't have involved her. But now her blue eyes followed him around the school and the way they all watched him, like he was somehow Chase in the making just because of what his father had done, just because of the fight and what he'd done, instead of laying down and dying...

It was a lot to live with, and as if that weren't enough, college applications were due in two weeks. He muttered under his breath, as he heard the first bell ring, and broke into a run against the wind, pushing through the door of the building and skidding to a halt inside, because the entranceway, while very nice, was not the marble and oak paneling he was used to seeing in Spenser Academy. Instead, it looked a lot like a hotel. Backing up slowly, Caleb exited outside, only to find a bright, sunny and hot morning awaiting him. He turned slowly, staring at the village and swallowed, immediately on guard, eyes scanning the streets looking for someone or something responsible for this. He clearly wasn't in Ipswich anymore, and he hadn't even felt the shift, which meant someone with some serious Power was around, and that never boded well.
