Shasta quickly walks back to his room after dropping Ivy off at hers (without bumping into Wizard McCoy, thank the Lion). After letting himself in, he goes into the bathroom and looks over all the makeup and hair stuff. Oops... the lip ring is nearly ready to come off. Blushing slightly at the memory of the reason why it's like that, he moves it

Bob prided himself in being extremely perceptive but he very nearly missed the true identity of the stranger approaching him until the young man was nearly upon him.

"What in the name of... Shasta?"

[horse_and_boy]

"Hi, Bob!" Shasta grins. "How are you?"

[hrothbert]

"That entirely depends," he replied as his pale blue gaze slowly traveling from the tip of Shasta's toes to the top of his darkly died hair.

"Did I miss Samhain?"

[horse_and_boy]

His cheeks and ears grow hot under Bob's inspection. "Sam who?"

[iolaus_lj]

Standing in front of the dojo, Iolaus had a puzzled expression on his face as he gazed down the street. "Hey, Herc?"

"Hmmm?"

"Could you come out here for a sec and take a look at something?"

Hercules walked over to his friend, filling the doorway. "What's up?"

"Look down there and tell me what you see."

The son of Zeus looked and arched an inquisitive eyebrow. "Looks like someone's been playing with Strife's wardrobe."

"Or Discord's."

Shasta walks down the street whistling, hands in pockets, looking into shop windows. As he nears the dojo, he looks up and sees Iolaus and Hercules.

"Hi, guys!" he says cheerfully, giving them a wave. And then, remembering how he looks, he sort of blushes and waits for their reaction.

Herc and Iolaus both waved to their friend while pointedly giving him a visual once-over.

"Interesting fashion statement," observed Hercules.

"I'll say," agreed Iolaus. "Thing is, what exactly are you trying to say?"

Shasta stands there, feeling a little awkward, as they look him over.

"Thanks," he says before giving them both a self-conscious smile. "Um... goth? I'm supposed to look sort of goth. Like Molly and Abby."

[faramir_hurin]

I do not know the man leaving the hotel, but notice him because he's strangely dressed. Wait, that song is familiar too, and very incongruous with the black clothing and rather off-putting makeup. On a man. A young man.

A young man that I know.

"Shasta?"

There must be some explanation for this, or it's a double. If it's not a double, then this had better be like the tattoo--there are pierces.

"Hello, Faramir," Shasta says, blushing a little. "Yes, it's me. I'm... er... trying something different." Well, obviously! "What do you think?"

[Okie!]

[faramir_hurin]

At least it still sounds like Shasta.

"I can see that. And by 'trying' you mean this is all temporary?" He's got pierces, for Eru's sake. And... and...

"Did you do this on your own?" I need to stop and think before I panic. It has to be temporary--Shasta is smarter than that.

And by all that, Shasta can tell what Faramir thinks.

It's not a thrilled voice he's hearing.

He's sure not going to get his friends into trouble. "Yes, I did it on my own. I only had help when I asked for it." He can't resist teasing a little. "Right now it's temporary."

[b_for_bastard]

Riddick paused when the kid walked past. Maybe he didn't have as much of a double-take as others were going to-- he knew Shasta's scent as much as his face.

But his mouth split up into a teasing grin. "I know that Carpenter woman has a hell of a rack, but are ya sure about the eye makeup?"

Riddick; only MOSTLY subtle and quick to anger.

Shasta is so preoccupied with thoughts of his afternoon with Molly and Ivy that he doesn't even notice his friend there.

A deep red color mixes in with the black makeup at Riddick's comment.

Er...

"Hello, Riddick. Um... Molly said all goth guys wear it." He grins sheepishly at the man. "But she said she didn't make me glam."

He isn't going to disagree with the 'rack' thing. At all.

He reached out to tousle Shasta's hair-- and didn't have to reach down as far as he'd had to, once. It didn't seem all that long ago.

"I know Glam. I used to bartend at Hidden Frank's. No worries, kid, you aren't glam. But HOW are you?" It had been a while since he'd crossed paths with his young friend.

Shasta hasn't had his hair tousled in a long time. His grin widens--even as he gives Riddick an 'I'm too old for that' look.

He's been in the village long enough to know what Riddick means by that. "Okay... whew. It's kinda weird having all this makeup on. I just thought it would be fun." And it so has been.

He pulls his lip in a little, unconsciously worrying at the lip ring. "I've been good. Really good." Ivy's two-colored hair and black lipstick come to mind. "Really good! Er... how've you been?"
