The village seemed to be ... slanty today.
After going home from grabbing some dinner with Barbara, Harvey felt a little woozy - light headed, dizzy and ... strangely giddy. At the time he had enough good sense left to try and sleep it off.
The floor woke him up this morning by hitting him in the face.
BAM.
"UGHH ..." Harvey opened his eyes, getting an extreme closeup of the carpet in his bedroom. He propped himself up a little, turning over ... and laughed. He hadn't fallen out of bed since he was what, six? Here he was, thirty-two, the frigging DA of Gotham City, lost in a ... wallet dimension? A ... damn, what did they call it?
POCKETS.
Pocket dimension.
HA!
After standing, slowly (and realizing exactly how TALL he was), Harvey had the sudden urge to go outside and socialize. People. People were great, weren't they? Like Barbara, who was SO grown up now, and so smart, and Harleen who was so dedicated, and Bruce who was so good looking it hurt. In a good way!
Harvey ditched his usual tie and suit jacket, just putting on a pair of pants and a dress shirt undone at the top, rolled up at the sleeves, and untucked. MUCH more comfortable this way. And a belt? Who NEEDED a belt? He wondered why he ever bothered with one, since his pants stayed up all by themselves, thank you very much!
Scout was laying on her back, snoring soundly near her half-empty water dish, and so Harvey grabbed his wallet, put it in his back pocket after a few tries and a manuver that must have looked like Scout chasing her tail, and left.
...
For some reason, walking took a lot longer today than when he was striding to work on weekdays, but he didn't mind. It was so NICE OUT, and this way, Harv really got to look around, really look AT things ... like ... plants. Plants, and walls, and damn, the cobblestones were AMAZING. All those little rocks, just ... making a street.
Wow.
After flipping his coin to decide whether to go right or left (it took a while since he appointed heads to go left, and heads to go right .. and kept dropping his coin), Harv found himself looking in the window of something called Hero's Journey.
Amazing. Just amazing. Huh.
After a moment, the other wonders of the village beckoned, and Harvey meandered off again, towards the Welcome center.
"On the road againnn ..." he half-sang under his breath, "just can't wait to get on the ... road agaiiiin ...".
He wasn't even really a Willie Nelson fan per se, but it seemed RIGHT for the moment, somehow.
