When the sun had gone down, it was cool enough to run. Not that Sarah ran often, but she did enough. Kyle was in their room after Star had fallen asleep talking with him. He was cleaning the left over dishes and waiting for Sarah to return when he thought he felt something. It was probably nothing though. He put the last plate away and turned to wipe down the table.

When Sarah got back, she was sweating, pushing her hair back from her face as she stepped in. She felt a little dizzy, but chalked that up to running. "Hey," with a smile as she shut the door. "Star asleep?"

God, he was so handsome. Sarah felt her body flush. Star was asleep. She toed off her shoes. "It felt good to run."

He'd only seen her a few days ago, but a lot had changed since then. Speirs sat on the steps of the bookstore, smoking a cigarette as she passed. He gave her a nod. A day or two had gone by since his encounter with Bruce, and he was still a bit sore. But that, he knew for certain, was not information Sarah would be interested in hearing.

He wondered, briefly, if his life wouldn't be easier if he could be attracted to women.

When she saw him, Sarah came to stop, hands on her hips, chest heaving. She was light-headed, arming the sweat from her forehead. "Hey."
