She had sought for a valiant death in battle, yearning for the release it would grant her from what she felt to be a hopeless situation. Yet within a fleeting moment, Eowyn had another purpose as she stood before her king and uncle, whom she loved as a father, for she was then the only barrier that stood between him and the foul creature that was

"Eowyn!" I am running toward her before I know it. Would that I was wearing my clothing from home today, but there was no reason to. "Lady Eowyn."
It is she.

With a frown furrowing her brow, the lady carefully rose from the ground, although her movements were tempered by weariness and pain from battle. "Who are you?" she inquired as she faced the stranger again. "How did you come to know my name?" Eowyn took in her surroundings again, and while the quiet, tranquil environment might settle another's nerves at ease, the lady could not help but feel a touch of fear. "What is this place? What happened to the war?"

"I know your name because you are Eowyn of Rohan, and I have met your brother several times when his eored was near Gondor's border." She must be familiar, as I am, with everyone knowing who she is. It is part of being in ruling families.
"This place is called Haurvatat, and I was brought here as you were some time ago. Many people from different times and places are brought here--it is some magic but no one knows who does it, or if it is somehow the village itself." That is not helpful. "There is no war here as we have at home. Conflicts happen, but mostly there is peace."

At his mention of Eomer, Eowyn gave a start, although she was still very weak, and she staggered, struggling in her steps. "Is my brother here?" she asked, her tone hopeful. "Dark were the voices that I heard, and they told me that he was slain in battle. What would I give to see him again, so that I may know he is safe and well.
"I had sought out death in battle, yet I have not died; in my dreams it is was the voice of Lord Aragorn who called to me, although it was you, lord, that I saw upon waking; and now I find myself here...in Haurvatat, my wounds dressed, although in my mind, I know the war is still being fought at home." She cast her eyes downwards and sighed. "Is there not a way to go back?"

Cuddy heard the sound of approaching voices and lifted her head to watch the clinic door for their arrival.

I approach the woman. I am fairly certain that she is the one who rooms with Lord Aragorn though I've not actually met her.
"Doctor, this is Lady Eowyn of Rohan, part of Middle-earth. She has just arrived and is injured, as you can see. Can you help her?"
Trying to extricate Faramir asap for ease of threading.

"I can," she said, offering forth a quick and easy smile. "Come and sit down. I'm Doctor Lisa Cuddy. I promise you'll be in good hands here."
She knew how frightening it could be, to be caught in this new place, but she wanted to help Eowyn as quickly as possible.
[No problem! Have him stick around as long as you want. :)]
