"What's this? What is this place that I have found?" (Tag to Faramir, OTA)

She had sought for a valiant death in battle, yearning for the release it would grant her from what she felt to be a hopeless situation. Yet within a fleeting moment, Eowyn had another purpose as she stood before her king and uncle, whom she loved as a father, for she was then the only barrier that stood between him and the foul creature that was ( Read more... )

It is not such a strange thing to find someone lying on the beach; people do it all the time, even ladies. But this lady is fully dressed as I would call it, not even in the manner of village women. It is a white gown just like I would see at home, and a lady that I recognise.

"Eowyn!" I am running toward her before I know it. Would that I was wearing my clothing from home today, but there was no reason to. "Lady Eowyn."

It is she.

A man was calling to her, although when she looked upon him, Eowyn realised that she did not know him. He was tall with a healthy build, and while there were some features about him that were distinctly familiar, Eowyn did not know where or when she might have seen him before.

With a frown furrowing her brow, the lady carefully rose from the ground, although her movements were tempered by weariness and pain from battle. "Who are you?" she inquired as she faced the stranger again. "How did you come to know my name?" Eowyn took in her surroundings again, and while the quiet, tranquil environment might settle another's nerves at ease, the lady could not help but feel a touch of fear. "What is this place? What happened to the war?"

"I am Faramir of Gondor." Of course this is a new Eowyn, not the one I met. Even injured, she has risen too quickly for me to offer aid. What war, with her dressed as she is?

"I know your name because you are Eowyn of Rohan, and I have met your brother several times when his eored was near Gondor's border." She must be familiar, as I am, with everyone knowing who she is. It is part of being in ruling families.

"This place is called Haurvatat, and I was brought here as you were some time ago. Many people from different times and places are brought here--it is some magic but no one knows who does it, or if it is somehow the village itself." That is not helpful. "There is no war here as we have at home. Conflicts happen, but mostly there is peace."

She should know that a warrior would not go about un-armed but for a boot knife if things were not safe.

Faramir. She knew the name. Eowyn studied his face keenly, realising at last where she had seen a face familiar to his, and a moment passed before she spoke again. "You have the likeness of your brother, my lord. I have met him before, although I was nothing but a child then."

At his mention of Eomer, Eowyn gave a start, although she was still very weak, and she staggered, struggling in her steps. "Is my brother here?" she asked, her tone hopeful. "Dark were the voices that I heard, and they told me that he was slain in battle. What would I give to see him again, so that I may know he is safe and well.

"I had sought out death in battle, yet I have not died; in my dreams it is was the voice of Lord Aragorn who called to me, although it was you, lord, that I saw upon waking; and now I find myself here...in Haurvatat, my wounds dressed, although in my mind, I know the war is still being fought at home." She cast her eyes downwards and sighed. "Is there not a way to go back?"

When Aragorn took to the stables and was taking care of his work there, Cuddy often found herself returning to the clinic. It was a routine of a kind, really, during which they left their room together and parted ways with the promise to meet later in the day. Not quite a work day rhythm, but so very close to one that its familiarity made her smile. Today had found the same situation, where Cuddy was at the clinic once again, to see what could be done. She had already been to check on Zelda, and both mother and baby were doing well.

Cuddy heard the sound of approaching voices and lifted her head to watch the clinic door for their arrival.

(Sorry it's a bit late, but still here! :D)

"Is this the 'clinic' you spoke of, lord?" asked Eowyn as she entered the clinic with Faramir. This looked nothing like the places of healing in Middle Earth, although both places had a quiet, peaceful sort of atmosphere about them, which she liked. Even still, Eowyn had to wonder what sort of remedies the healer might offer her, and how different said remedy might be from any cure she might receive if she was back in Middle Earth.

"It is." I see a doctor, one who happens to be a woman. Well, we have women healers too. "And I am not a lord here, just Faramir."

I approach the woman. I am fairly certain that she is the one who rooms with Lord Aragorn though I've not actually met her.

"Doctor, this is Lady Eowyn of Rohan, part of Middle-earth. She has just arrived and is injured, as you can see. Can you help her?"

Trying to extricate Faramir asap for ease of threading.

Cuddy came to join the two who had come through the door, making quick notice of Eowyn and her fresh injuries. Middle-Earth and Rohan rung familiar and true in her mind, and she remembered them from what Aragorn had told her. These were his friends, and one was a new arrival to the village. Of course she would help.

"I can," she said, offering forth a quick and easy smile. "Come and sit down. I'm Doctor Lisa Cuddy. I promise you'll be in good hands here."

She knew how frightening it could be, to be caught in this new place, but she wanted to help Eowyn as quickly as possible.

[No problem! Have him stick around as long as you want. :)]
