It amazed Sarah how two people could live together, sleeping in the same bed, and avoid talking about anything remotely important.
The appearance of the kids had definitely thrown her for a loop. And she had been thinking a LOT lately about her feelings for Chuck. She had always been aware of them, but until recently, had managed to put them aside for the sake of her job.
But now, she was starting to wonder if what happened to them here would make a difference when they got back home.
And those were dangerous thoughts. So she was content to work long hours, making sandwiches, and trying not to think too much.
