Juliet was sitting quietly on a bench, her legs pulled up and her chin resting on her knees. A book was beside her; one that had caught her eye at the library. It was about a woman time traveling between the eighteen hundreds and the nineteen seventies, and she was eating it up one chapter at a time. She'd put it down to reflect on a quote from the novel.
I don’t have a name for the thing that happened to me, but I don’t feel safe any more.
She didn't particularly feel unsafe, but there was an uneasy feeling settling around her as she thought about everything happening both in the village and on the island. There was a very real possibility that when she got back to the island, everything would continue the way that it was. She was afraid to settle into anything too cozy here, especially after seeing those children come and go so quickly. There was no reason to think she was going anywhere anytime soon, but she couldn't get comfortable. In fact, the only time she felt a semblance of relaxation was laying next to Teal'c in quiet peace. But even that, she was afraid to get used to.
She loved being in the village to get a reprieve from the island. For meeting Teal'c. And she hated it because she knew it wouldn't last.
