Ever since Chrissy left, Brennan had been spending longer hours at the museum. If there wasn't work readily available for her she would search some out that would keep her occupied until late into the evenings. It was not as if she were doing it to avoid dealing with the things that had come up while Chrissy was here. It was simply because taking care of Chrissy had kept her busier and she realized how much she missed the steady pace of work at home in D.C. That was all. Of course it was. And the fact that she had not seen Booth since they said goodbye to Chrissy was only a byproduct of her new work schedule. Nothing else. Obviously.
She sighed. So why did she feel a strange pang of guilt whenever she thought about him? It was illogical and she hated it.
Pushing back in her chair from where she was hunched over an artifact from the museum's archives, she closed her eyes and rubbed the bridge of her nose, feeling a dull ache settling in.
