Saying good-bye and hello [Closed to Spock]

When Romana had received the message that everyone in the village had also received she was saddened. A few days wasn't really enough time to get to know her children. Granted, she would have a lifetime when she left the village, but that was beside the point ( Read more... )

Spock put away his messenger when he received the text. This was his one chance to have a son. One that knew the pain of being between two worlds, though he had only the slim undercurrent of humanity ( ... )

Romana had felt Stef's presence now that the door was opened. It wasn't that the door was a barrier but that the hotel had two time lords, and three children of time lords all with varying Gallifreyan readings. To say that she was relieved that he was there would be very accurate as well as curious about the man standing in front of her.

"I'm sorry to interrupt but I wanted to talk to Stef." Romana wasn't sure if Stef knew about the impeding leaving or not so she didn't want to speak that out loud.

Spock nodded, as glad to see Romana as he could allow himself to be. The boy deserved to see his mother before he left, and at least they had some privacy while Vila was at the TARDIS bar.

Stef stood and crossed the room to join his mother. It was a little embarrassing to be this open in front of his stoic father... but then again, he couldn't allow himself even embarrassment. And if he couldn't allow himself embarrassment, Spock wouldn't allow himself disappointment.

"Mother," he said quietly.

Spock had never met the woman before, but he put a hand on her shoulder. A touch that differed from a human touch, or even a Gallifreyan touch, coursing with the telepathic energy that ran through every Vulcan and lending support.

Unfortunately for both Vulcans, Romana wasn't as restrained. She reached up and placed a hand over Spock's on her shoulder, squeezing it gently. Her eyes filled with tears as she looked at their son. That seemed such an odd thing to think with a stranger but it also felt right.

"Even a Time Lady doesn't get as much time as one would hope to get to know her son. It seems as if you just got here and now you're leaving. I suppose I can be comforted then when you return to your world, I'll be there to greet you." It wouldn't lessen the void that she would feel when he and Fred left however.
