Eight months.
Not the record for being here, certainly. Maybe it was the fact that it had just a little past Easter when she left home and that Easter was coming up in a couple of months. Maybe it was just because the snow was melting. Whatever the reason, Charity was feeling rather homesick for her children and for Chicago.
She didn't quite know what to do about it, either.
So, though she was en route to the forge, she was taking her time about getting there.
