Haurvatat Botanical Center. Well, that was new.

And pretty, from what Harry could see inside. Lots of different kinds of trees and flowers that didn't grow in the local forests. Some were even in bloom, despite the fact that it was February. And...hey, waterfall!

Okay. No one could expect him to not investigate a place with a waterfall.

He pushed the door. It opened. Well, that settled that. It was definitely open for business.

Curious, he stepped inside. "Hello? Anybody here?"

"Harry?" Winifred replied--from behind a rather large, leafy plant. "This was not here before. Isn't it beautiful?"

She stepped into sight and smiled.

"Winifred! Hi." Then Harry smiled. "And yes. The place is gorgeous. Is it yours?"

"I think that it is," Winifred said with a touch of awe evident in her voice. "I was at the park, working with my little garden. It began to disappear and I reached out to it."

She looked around happily. "I was pulled with them and found myself outside. All my plants, Harry, they are here."

In the finite confines of the village, there was no place that Winifred could go where Bob could not find her. Their bond was more than just heart to heart; they were soul mates, two halves of a whole. He need only close his eyes and reach out to his Lady, willing himself to join her.

With a flash of orange and black flame, he was instantly transported to her side. This he expected.

What he did not expect was to find himself suddenly standing in the midst what appeared to be a glass-walled, life-size terrarium.

"Well! This is new."

"Oh, Hrothbert!" she turned to him and exclaimed happily. "It is beautiful and... look... here... the flowers from the park!"

"I will admit that it does seem impressive."

Bob bent to examine the flowers, recognizing (or so he thought) the one that had struggled to rise from the frosted ground at Christmas tide. "They're thriving. But then," he continued with a smile for his Lady, "I would have expected nothing less from your ministrations. Did you brought them here?"

"I have never seen the like! Imagine! Glass walls and trees growing indoors. It is fantasical."

Winifred smiled back, quite thrilled to be sharing this with her beloved. "I followed them here. As I was about to leave the park, and my little garden, I saw a flash of light and turned to see them disappearing into the ground.I was not happy."

That was an understatement.

"So I tried to stop what was happening and I was pulled along to here. I can only imagine that the village felt they belonged in this place.

"Come, look at the waterfall and the pool beneath. There is a stream and a little bridge and colorful, fat fish. Come!"

She grabbed his hand and pulled him toward the waterfall, full of child-like excitement.

Shilo was making a return to the hotel, pushing her hair out of her eyes as she walked and glancing up long enough to see...a building that hadn't been there before. She blinked for a moment, eyebrows lifting slightly at all of the green she saw inside!

Shi couldn't resist and, jogging slightly, she pulled the door open carefully. She spotted the woman looking around but was too stunned at how pretty it was in here to say much of anything. She'd say hello if the woman looked over, however.

Winifred straightened from a closer look at an unfamiliar flowering plant--regretful that she was not able to actually touch it--and saw the young woman.

"Hello," she smiled. "You are welcome to come all the way in."

Shilo smiled at that and came all the way in, expression filled with absolute awe. "This wasn't here an hour ago," she said in surprise.

"It was not," Winifred agreed. "What a lovely addition to the village, however."

She looked up toward the glassed-in roof and the tops of the trees, never having seen anything of the like. "How splendid!"

This was certainly new. And not unwelcome.

Usually these new buildings Garak disregarded as quirks of the village. But this one was significant. When he approached the door, the smell of fresh earth and warmth of the air and the smell of growing plants wafted out toward him.

He could hear Tolan in his head, could feel the dirt between his fingers as he buried Edosian Orchids. Or he could feel the hot Romulan air as he tilled the ground at the Embassy, feeling suspicious eyes at his back even as he indulged in the smell of clean garden air.

He was almost hesitant to open it up, knowing even as the door opened he was getting... well... heartsick. Of all the bitter, cynical, uncaring things he was capable of, and here he was missing the man that wasn't really his father and being a service worker and actually feeling lovedGarak only managed to get the door halfway open, before he started to step back and close it. He was discomforted by his wave of emotion, and he was a little afraid of that lonely little boy inside of him ( ... )

Winifred was nearby--having been delighted to find a tiny, colorful tree frog on a large, scallop-edged leaf-- and looked up as the door opened, pleased to have another visitor to enjoy this with. She had been in the village long enough now to not be unduly surprised at his unusual appearance.

"Please, come in," she said with a welcoming smile. "You are very welcome."

[No worries! I tend to do the same thing. :)]

Oh, he was caught. He stood in the door for a moment, before hesitantly peering inside.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to intrude. My father was a groundskeeper and I have been a horticulturist myself..." He stepped inside, shutting the door behind him carefully.

All of these plants were so foreign to him, so alien. He couldn't help but stare with childish, wide eyed reverie at them. Though he didn't touch, or walk much further inside. Just stared, and looked for the life of him like he was about to bolt despite his desire to inspect.

"You are not intruding at all," Winifred replied warmly. "It sounds as though you belong here. Please, make yourself at home."

Her eyes sparkled at his obvious display of awe. "Take a closer look. There are hidden treasures in the leaves and pools and on the branches."

[ooc: There are insects, tree frogs, toads, turtles, koi in the water, birds in the trees, even butterflies (though there will also be a live butterfly exhibit in one of the rooms. :) Feel free to see any of these.]
