Helen Plum crossed herself as she watched her mother unloading the refridgerator of their potatoes. "Why are you taking all those potatoes again?"
Edna placed the last Yukon potato in the duffle bag on the floor. "I told you. I've got to re-supply the troops!"
"What troops!"
"Mooner and Zook. They're protecting Joseph's house." Edna zippered the duffle bag, hiked her purse over her shoulders, and started dragging the duffle bag to the front of the house.
"Protecting it from what?"
"From invasion."
Helen crossed herself again. "Maybe you should wait for Stephanie."
"You worry too much." Lula's firebird pulled up at the curb. "My ride's here! Now don't wait up." Edna dragged the bag through the door, ignoring her daugther's pleas for sanity. Only instead of a driveway in the Burg, she was standing in some strange village. Her potatoes had come with her. She dropped the handles of the duffle bag and looked around. "Huh."
