Meg couldn't stop the thrill coursing through her that Erik had his daughter with him, nor the fact that she was in the Opera House. She was excited to see the final rehearsals. They were some of her favorite times of the theater. Excitement was always in the air.
"Monsieur, it is beautiful." She turned in her seat as much as her dress would allow to look at the interior of the building.
Bella climbed onto his lap with a small smile, still terrified that Erik would leave again. Erik cradled her close as he chuckled at Meg's enthusiasm. "Go on, petit danseur, I know you are dying to explore."
"Merci." Her smile bloomed, raising a hand to softly caress Bella's head. "I won't be in the way of the performers." Meg stood and smoothed down her dress. "It is almost like being home."
Polgara bustled in, completely confident that she knew her parts - except for those dratted scenes with Prince Charming. They hadn't practised once, she had no idea if the arrogant prat had even looked at his lines. If she ended up looking like a fool because of him . . .
Molly was doing her best to .. not really avoid Erik, but more stay out of his way so he wouldn't feel more pain from her presence. So she was backstage, keeping an eye on things and hopefully help if Erik was finding it a bit too much. She'd noticed Polgara talking to Erik and Bella which made her smile. He was back with his daughter.
She was moving back to the shadows of the back stage area when movement caught her eye. Molly turned around to see a pretty blond in an 1870s costume. She couldn't remember seeing that in the play but it wasn't like she was paying attention either.

Erik went in search of Meg, as promised, shortly before rehearsal was to begin. He heard her voice and followed it before spotting Molly, quickly slipping into one of his many hiding places as he watched the pair.
Molly arched an eyebrow at how 'in character' this one was. "Oookay. You're good, but no the rehearsals haven't started yet. At least not when I was close enough to hear. Can I ask which character you are? I don't remember a mademoiselle Giry in the play."
Camulus was, despite the opinions of some of the cast, prepared for his role. He knew his lines, and all his notes were almost perfect. Well, all of his and Mochta's notes, given that it was mostly the host doing the work on that end.
Part of his dedication may have had something to do with a small blonde withholding sex unless he practised. Dratted little woman. He actually did enjoy the role, especially in the guise of the Wolf. Arrogant, skillful, lascivious. It was his sort of role, really.
Until the second act, when the Prince and the Baker's Wife were lost in the woods for the first time.
Rei, who had been keeping relatively to herself except for the interactions when she needed to on stage, had sort of taken the turnip-changing with stride. Not that something like that was an everyday experience, but she had sensed strong power from the woman and it was little surprise she was capable of what she did.
Still, she didn't want to pry, so she returned to the script, mouthing a part she felt she wasn't quite confident with still - even though she had been assured she was.
Meg gasped when she saw what Polgara had done to the person she assumed was Prince Charming. Not that she blamed her, it had been a highly inappropriate kiss even if it was in the play. She accidentally brushed the arm of the girl sitting next to her as she settled back to watch the rest of the play.
Rei glanced up and offered a pitiful excuse for a smile. "It's alright." Her eyes drifted back to the stage for a minute. Rei might have been busy with her lines, but she hadn't missed the gasp. "I'm sure he'll be fine." Even if there was a dark sort of presence about the man.
Meg was confused for a moment and then realized that she thought she cared about the man playing Prince Charming. "Non." She shook her head with a sheepish smile. "Madam Polgara said she she could turn him into a newt, I wasn't expecting a turnip." Or the power behind it, Meg silently added.

"Hi. I'm Molly. Can I help you find something?"

"Pardon." She curtsied to Molly as she shook her head. "I am Mademoiselle Giry. I lost track of time exploring. Have rehearsals begun?"

"Arrogant bastard," Polgara said diffidently, her hands curled lightly into fists at her sides.
