Danny had felt better about being in the village. His encounter with Lilah, meeting Seth, someone he could call 'mate', it was all good. Even Gwen wasn't bad. He needed to talk to Gwen, see if she wanted to work the Casino one evening.
He did something he'd gotten into habit of most evenings - went to the Firecracker for a drink or three. It reminded him of Eddie's, and it was a good place. As he entered, he waved to the barperson, who turned to line up his usual drink. As he idly reached down to grab a handful of bar snacks, he didn't notice a puff of something from under them until it hit his skin. As his eyes went wide, he thought 'what the hell was that' - then he started to laugh, and couldn't stop.
