Nightmares and things (Open)

It made me have nightmares. I should have known it would. Helping brick up under the theatre was important but it's hard to see my brother and know he has no wish to speak with me. And he is not the only one ( Read more... )

There was another late-night wanderer this eve. No, not a Dragon though people did call him 'Monster.'

Hannibal, known in the village as 'Dr. Fell,' was out taking a stroll. Mentally he was planning on finding himself several crows to replace the modern plastic tips on his harpsichord with the authentic, eighteenth-century crow quills. He was also listening to some Bach as he walked when he chanced to come across Faramir.

After a quiet 'stalking' for a moment, Hannibal pretty well knew the following: That his prospective conversational mate was injured although not terribly seriously, and that he had a lot on his mind.

"A quiet night for such a heavy gait," he announced his presence. When Faramir caught sight of him, Hannibal's dark suit faded into the night, save the stark white of his shirt-collar. The shadows over his eyes seemed to hide in their depths tiny red sparks from hell instead of eyes a normal man would have.

I know there's someone there but I don't feel any immediate threat. Likely, they wonder who I am as I wonder who they are. When there is a greeting and I turn, I find the dramatic white that stands out to be somewhat odd looking in the lamplight. There is virtually no moon at this time.

"Problems seldom wait until it is convenient, or so I have found. I am pleased that it is not too cold to be able to walk out in the night." I stop and wait for the man to catch up, since it seems he desires conversation. "An unusual greeting. My name is Faramir."

It's easier to nod instead of shaking hands, not just because we are walking.

"A pleasure to meet you, Faramir. I am Dr. Fell."

A small smile plays on his lips at the thought of the rumors going through the hotel (and now the city, he'd heard mention of it in the streets). Some say how a woman claims to have used magic to seduce this man while others say he insists that it could not be so. Hannibal knew the man was squirming and found the taste of that delightful.

Naturally the hints of metal under his sling and in his boot tell Hannibal where Faramir's weapons are concealed, though he personally suspects that where there are two, there could possibly be others. The sling would be a natural hiding place for a spare weapon.

"I often must ask people to forgive me, I too often say what I am thinking, rather than what people would expect in polite society."

"It is good to meet you, Dr. Fell." Now that I can see him better, I find that he is not familiar. "There is nothing wrong with honesty, as long as it is not too offensive, I suppose."

It makes a bit of a change, I think.

"Have you been here long? I'm sure I have not seen you before."
