Is, of course, picture-perfect. No Charlie Brown trees here. There are a few presents scattered beneath. Pick up or leave some of your own.

So what in hell did you get a Polgara?
Stildyne had wracked his brain for a proper gift, come up blank, and given up. He'd wound up purchasing a box of assorted teas and a set of dishes that looked like they'd make a satisfying shatter if they had to be flung at a wall. His real present would come later, when he slipped back in after reconnoitering the party at the Sin, and cleaned up after the party guests here.

He laid the wrapped boxes under the tree and made to slip out, hopefully unseen.

Never try to sneak out when the hostess is at least partly psychic. Whether she caught him or not was another matter.

Polgara automatically checked to make sure she still had her hus - Frank. "In that case, don't let me stop you," she laughed. "Go on and have fun."

"Thank you. I'll be back a bit later. If only for the food." His thin lips stretched in a smile, and he stepped forward to kiss her on the forehead as he generally did. It wasn't an inappropriate action. He'd do it in front of others.

So Howie wasn't sure how to do the gift thing....like, whether or not to give gifts or if he was going to how much time or money he'd spend on them and more importantly who he was planning on giving them to ( ... )
