After the previous day's disastrous reunion with his mother, Draco was feeling a lot like a dirty rag in the gutter. However, there was nothing like meddling (well, not technically meddling since he had permission from Meg) in other people's lives to provide a way to ignore the shit storm in your own. That was what Draco believed and so he was ( Read more... )

Oz entered the cafe, brushing off the snow, and headed toward the counter. He ordered a sandwich and a coffee, then turned around to scan the cafe for a place to sit.

[[ooc: you can spot him as a potential date, if you want. XD ]]

It took a moment for Draco to remember the lad's name, but then he smiled and waved at him.

"Oz! Fancy seeing you again," he said, and pushed out the empty chair with his foot. "Have a seat."

He nodded. "Spot on. How have you been?" Draco asked. "Still with the band and all?"

"Yeah, the band hasn't broken up just yet." he let out a small laugh, "I've been... okay, otherwise."

Willow was gone, yes, but he'd been gaining more control over his transformations.

"A lot of the just 'okay' going around," Draco said. "Must be the winter blues or some such nonsense. Do you have a girlfriend, Oz?"

He uncapped his pen and poised it over the pad of paper.

Oz blinked at the non sequitur.

"No.... why do you ask?" he eyed the pen and paper, in confusion.

"Doing some research, of a sort, for a lady friend of mine who is looking to expand her dating options," he said, and winked at Oz. "You don't have to worry, I'm not hitting on you. Well, I am, but not for me."

He smirked, ever so slightly, "Okay. Did you have questions for me then?"

"Ah, here we go," Draco said with a smile, and wrote Oz's name at the top of the paper. "Basic things first, of course. How old are you; where are you from, including time period and planet; what do you do in the village; and do you have any hobbies?"

"Let's see. I'm 20. From Sunnydale, California. Earth. The year 2000. The only thing I do so far workwise is the band. But I've been spending a lot of free time at Tora's Haven..."

"Doing very well, so far," Draco said with a nod as he wrote down details. "I've never been to Tora's Haven. Do you volunteer to take care of the animals?"

"There's a wolf there that I've been working with, yes," he nodded. And there were the times he needed to use one of the enclosure when he changed.

Oz wondered if perhaps he shouldn't say something... he didn't want to go on a date with a girl if she didn't know about him...

Draco wrote that down, and smiled. "Good with animals, always plus. I'll tell you a bit about your potential date now, it's only fair after all. Her name is Meg, she's 20 and owns the Dance Studio. She's also in charge of the ballet company here, and comes from Paris...I'd say late 1800s. Her English is fantastic, and she's a very cute blond."

She sounded sweet. Innocent likely. Could she handle dating a werewolf? Oz shifted in his seat.

"Sounds like a nice girl." Oz said, then looked around them to see if anyone else might overhear, "I don't think I'd be... good for her, Draco... I'm not going to pretend otherwise..."

"If you're worried about the time difference thing, don't be," he said. "She's been in the village for over a year, loosened up a little, learned some things."
