petitboheme - Regan Olivia Perrin [Evanna Lynch]

You know, this is my second Muse obsessed with a certain book series whose body model comes from that series' movie adaptation. (The first, clearly, being Bryony.) I have really got to stop doing that.

So obviously Regan adores Harry Potter. She writes fanfiction but wouldn't dare post it anywhere because she's fourteen and she sees all that criticism of idiotic young fanfic writers and she's terrified of her writing being pulled down like that just because of her age.

The thing is, she's really actually a very good writer, and no one ever really sees that except when they do creative writing in English. She's not overly brilliant at anything else, so when she's sandwiched between her older sister "school thought I was a genius and put me up" Kenzie and (I'll cover her next) Lane, she just feels kind of pointless. Regan is also the only one of her sisters who doesn't play and isn't brilliant at soccer, and she doesn't play sports or dance or anything so she feels somewhat uncoordinated. It doesn't help that she usually has her nose in a book when she's walking around. (Regan spends about half her time reading [books]. This is at least partially because Regan reads rather slowly.)

Her parents were busy today so couldn't take her to Dymocks (not Borders, she doesn't like Borders) to pick up Deathly Hallows. She's not allowed to go to town on her own until she's fifteen, she doesn't have the balls to sneak out, and Kenzie refused to take her because she dressed up as Rita Skeeter (she spends enough time in uniform without dressing up as Luna), so Regan is now in great admiration of Gloria, who overheard her begging Kenzie to take her and offered to do it. Gloria also unnecessarily bought her a chocolate cupcake in honor of the occaision.

Lane picked up the book and had a flick through when Regan went to the bathroom or something, then told her who dies when she got back. Naturally Regan wasn't up to that part yet, so she kind of broke down in tears instead of yelling at her, then stormed off to barricade herself and read it in her room. She's still there now, but she fell asleep over it.

sweptoffurfeet - Lane Kimberly Perrin [AnnaSophia Robb]

Lane is eleven and doesn't get it. Reeg is going to find out who dies anyway so why not now?

Obviously Lane isn't a book girl. Lane is a tomboy, to the extent that she buys her clothes at Hallensteins whenever she can get away with it (not if her mother is around, Dad is more lenient) and Kenzie occasionally seriously wonders if she's transgender. (Then Kenzie gets a life.) She plays soccer for a club as opposed to school because the competition's tougher amongst boys and she doesn't want to play in a team full of girls. She's a sweeper, mostly due to "I'm really a striker" Kenzie trying to play soccer with her almost as soon as she could walk. And apparently she's awesome, Kenzie swears up and down that she'd make it into Senior A in Year 11 if only she played for school.

Unlike Regan, Lane reads pretty damn fast, so it's a pity she has no interest in books. (Actually, that's probably why she reads so fast. The sooner she stops reading the better.)

I get the impression Lane and Kenzie tend to pick on Regan a bit. She is so patently different from them (Lane and Kenzie at least have soccer to bond them through the six year age difference) that they don't make an effort to understand her. Like understanding Regan is a lost cause. Regan keeps trying to reach her sisters, though, so she sort of understands them.

Speaking of Harry Potter? Jem totally went as Tonks. The dye hasn't washed out yet, so his parents are most unimpressed. Tayla is far too amused.
