Mr Linden Kohlrabi is celebrating his name-day by not acknowledging it in the slightest, and, in fact, pretending it is nothing of the sort. Goodman Bough needs no gifts. His own father taught him that well enough over the years, despite interference from his mother, and her numerous attempts to turn him into a sinner and betrayer of his father's faith.

So books it is, and no holiday. He does, however, make himself very fragrant, lovely coffee to drink as he reads.
