Well, Linden--Linden feels amazing. He's been talking to a lot of people, and doing a lot of listening, and a lot of thinking, and--things have changed, at least a little. He's discovered a hope within himself that he hasn't felt in a long time. Something has cleared and left him, and for the last few days he's slept well all night long ( Read more... )

Alcuin wanders closer, the pretty youth leaning over to sniff at Linden's cooking. "You're making me hungry," he teased. "What's in it?"

"Meat and rice, vegetables." Linden gives him a rather sideways smile. He notices prettiness, but has never acted upon it. It's very unlikely, in fact, that he has ever acted romantically towards anyone unless there was something to gain.

Alcuin himself is near oblivious to attention unless there is something he desires, so his demeanor is almost entirely one of innocence, curious as a boy. "What else can you cook? I'm always looking for new recipes."
