I'm so glad I went to the Dennis Kucinich speech/rally--really nice! It was in Detroit and Christine and I sat up front in a small auditorium, theater style. There were just a few of us there at first and we started talking. I had a lot of info since I did A LOT of research on Bush and everything behind the war including old bills passed in Congress, just trying to figure out what the real facts were in the rush to war in Iraq fall 2002. A mutual conversation started with a man who was seeing eye to eye with me as I brought up different facts I had researched over a year ago. He gave me his e-mail address to send me some documents. Later he was introduced on stage as the head organizer of the Michigan Democratic Party. That's good, because I didn't hold any of my opinions back! I also signed up for the Peace Train March 20, the anniversary of when 'shock and awe' started a year ago. There will be a world wide demonstration March 20, so I'll take the Peace Train to Chicago with the Michigan group. Then we were treated to some wonderful jazz--a saxophone player and singer from the Baker Keyboard Lounge. She started with 'My Funny Valentine' and followed that with "The Very Thought of You", " The Look of Love", "No Ordinary Love", " Got a Thing For You & I Can't Let Go", " Ain't Nobody Make Me Feel This Way", " L is For the Way You Look at Me", " At Last My Love Has Come", and For the Love of You", and 'You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman"--such a good memory!! ( yes, I wrote them down..:) The singer was a 'natural woman' and swayed and moved with the music--pure soul. Then Rep. John Conyers spoke--really good-calm focused speaker. Next, an African American female in colorful African garb. Then we sang 'Doe a deer' using the letters of Kucinich's name and then 'Kucinich' modeled after 'Maria' from West Side Story. After a faith offering, Dennis Kucinich came. He was good. He had good, common sense SIMPLE solutions to rebalance the money in the govt with the peoples' needs. Apparently, in one illustration, the Pentagon has ONE TRILLION DOLLARS unaccounted for--just a slight oversight. Very glad I went.
