It's something these devices can do that I found out about while fiddling around with them. It keeps people from reading what you write if you don't want them too and you can make it so some people can read it and some people can't. I'm not very good at it, but I doubt the Raven Prince knows what it is either yet.

I kinda found out by accident that there's a button on them that can let you talk into them instead of write to send messages.
