I guess I should not have been surprised per say by her reaction. I mean in comparison to some of the other eligible women in Ebon Rih I am sure there were some more suitable to his caste, Jewels and family ties. A woman more suited to life as the wife of the Warrior Prince of Ebon Rih, an aristo woman with dark Jewels and any caste but hearth witch would have been more suitable for him than I if she was asked. However I never would have guessed she would use the Widow’s craft on me, never would have tried to hurt her own son for no other reason than the supposed purity of bloodlines. Luthvian had thought less of me from the moment Jaenelle brought me to heal at her home in Kaeleer so why I thought she would stand by and let me marry her only son was admittedly bad thinking on my part. But I think even Jaenelle and the High Lord were surprised at the lengths she would go to to keep us apart. I never underestimated Luthvian after that. It is never wise to cross a Black Widow.
