Why does it always center around the bar?
This is the second time he's found himself in the place, this time standing outside and watching the wind ripple across the lake.
His father. His father It's too much to take with everything else he has to deal with. All he wants to do is help Molly.
She's the child he'll never have after all.

Silent.
Until--a shrill crying fills the air. A baby, wrapped in blankets is on the ground behind Matt, kicking his feet and waving his arms in the vain hope that someone will come and take care of him.
He shrieks, his cries tinny and frightened.

It cuts for everyone, but something about the noise throws Matt Parkman into an almost animal-like state of heightened awareness.
Gray faced and pale and lacking that maternal glow that mothers are supposed to have...
Crying.
You can't remember? What the hell do you mean you can't remember
His footsteps are cautious as he reaches down for the child, trying to think of something soothing to say.
Matt we have to talk.
"....It's okay...It's okay..."

Matt reaches down for the baby and when his head is down, she's standing there, in front of him, in front of the baby, staring down at them both. Can you see her feet?
(All noises are cancelled out by the baby and his cries.)
Pick him up, Matt.

The sound is roaring in his ears as he tries in vain to quiet the child, lifting him off the ground and making a move to put his arms around him.

"Why, Matt?" Her voice cracks as she watches them. Unblinkingly.

He flinches, "I-"
It's odd. The baby seems to be getting heavier with every moment, "I can."
He can. He can He had a good childhood (didn't he?) A good basis to learn from. (didn't he?)
Can a child weigh a million pounds? "I can be a good father."

"I'm not going to stay around where I'm not wanted." Matt says, clearly in difficulty.
Your father didn't stay around because he wasn't a good man Matthew
The baby is still screaming, the sound ringing in his head.
"You have your son's father."

(The screams the baby was making reverberate)
"You are his father," She spits at him, face screwed up in apparent anger and though she doesn't move, she seems to be right in his face now.

She wasn't sure.
"Matt, baby, we have to talk."
"You've lied to me about everything else-why should I believe you now?"
Reply
"He looks like you. He's yours."
He'll be a hero.

".....God"
"He's not."
It's partially denial.
I wouldn't wish that on him
