The bar is empty. It's a place that Matthew Parkman hasn't been in...in too long. It started a hell of alot of things for him too. The bar was where he first found his abilities, learned to use them, became...Something else

It's a stupid question to ask and one he's not sure this ghostly version of the elder Patrelli brother will understand. The language of dreams is far from silent however.
Matt Parkman has been many things, but the idea that he's a god disturbs him and reminds him in no uncertain terms of a picture he's recently seen of a man he thought vanished form his life forever.
This is why he suddenly becomes engrossed in his hands, breathing deep, "We're just people. Doesn't matter who we are or where we came from or what we're doing-we're just people."
Nathan was now chiding him and walking toward him, the beard now gone, looking like his most recent appearance, "We were never people, Parkman. People can't fly, can't spontaneously heal, can't explode."
Now getting into Matt's face as he spat out, " People can't hear thoughts or manipulate minds as they please. Whatever we are, it might not even be human anymore."
Matt's not sure he wants to know. In his mind's eye he sees a thousand different possibilities, most of them involving frightening things too terrible to contemplate.
"Me? It's not important. You though? You're waiting on whether you can accept what you are. What you can do. And whether you'll be any different than him."
Nathan glanced away at something distant, and hollowly replied, "We're all our fathers' sons, and we're the ones to make up for their sins."
His face bubbled and now half of it was burned. One of his eyes now a white iris on the burnt side.

"You're-"
Dead? Alive? some sort of strange resurrected zombie?
His eyes widen and his body tenses, every so slightly.

"The mind is your playground, your hell after all."

Matt feels himself stagger.

Perhaps he heard.
"He died. I'm sorry."
Reply
"Because he's my brother. Family's all we have in the end. Have to hang on as long as we can."
He shook his head, "He can't die. Doesn't work that way."

Matt's voice is firm, unwavering. He can't believe that they are less then human, because he's known far too many people like that.
".....Are you dead?" Is this a dream? some sort of subconscience echo?

Nathan seemed to withdraw inward at the last question, backing away a step.
"No, but not exactly alive. This is the waiting room. Everybody waits here sometimes, including you." Pointed look back at him.

He speaks from not knowing Nathan.

Nathan replied, "I'm no better. How do you know you are? You have his power after all."

There is a flash of memory as something gleams outside the window.
"I just hear thoughts." I don't want the rest of it.
