A friend is facing foreclosure on his home after some difficult financial problems. I emailed my concern, and he seems more upbeat than I suspected. Part of his response:
"Life is fantastic and a great joy and is covered and littered with dirt and crap. It's part of being alive on a living planet."
Yeah, that's about it. I cried this morning. In the translated words of Justinus Kerner, "In silent nights, many weep from pain. In the morning they can be happy again." (from my favorite Schumann song) Or, there's always a new day. The cycles in this wonderful world revive us and give us hope for tomorrow, next season, spring after winter, even mornings after difficult nights.
