Confessions on a dance floor

Madonna on the cover of Elle (France)

I’ve been downloading songs from Confessions On A Dance Floor and being such a New Yorker in Tondo, “I Love New York” easily caught my attention: I love New York/Other cities make me feel like a dork - if that doesn't count as ditzy, then I don't know what does. :P

Luckily, a tiny part of me loves Madonna so I find it easy to forgive her for writing such songlines. However, what bothers me is the lack of sincerity in the song. If one has so much love for New York, why not make more sense out of it?

(100 words)

Maybe this explains why-

Madonna on I Love New York during one of her shows in London (via Madonnalicious):
This next song is called 'I Love New York.' But I love London too - if I didn't, why do you think I'd live here? I wrote a song about New York because New York for me was about survival. It is more a state of mind than a place....I want to thank all of my fans who camped out all night in the freezing cold so they could see me. That's what I'm talking about. That's a New York state of mind.'

madonna, 100, new york
