I want nothing of the sort. But Facinaturu needs a leader.

But you can't lock her away forever! That's terrible. What about what she wants.

She wouldn't be locked away. She'd be discouraged from running away for ten years at a stretch, mind you, but she wouldn't be stripped of all freedom, either.

As for what she wants...I don't truly believe she doesn't want to come back. Not entirely.

But... she told me she'd be locked away, never to see the sun again...

...an oversimplification.

You want to tell me where the sun's been in Facinaturu, then?

You would not be forbidden to leave, if you chose. Orlouge himself went to the human world on occasion; it was during one such instance where he ran over into you.

He was chasing Princess Rei down.

Which reminds me... I've still got a harem to build.

At the time, yes. Do you think that is the only time mystics venture out of Facinaturu? Where do you think new mystics come from?

...Harems are not a requirement.

Well, you haven't sat me down and explained to me that subject yet. When a boy Mystic and a girl Mystic love one another very much...

Are you sure? I think they are.

Mystics can't have children. A mystic is simply a human that died and was given mystic blood; they are then reborn as a full-blooded mystic. Your own half-mystic status comes from Orlouge giving you his blood when you hadn't actually died.

They were Orlouge's institution, and as such should be taken with a grain of salt, as should everything else that was done under his rule.

From what I recall, I probably should have. I can still feel it, sometimes. On bad days.

Well, at least a few companions. Friends.

I see. I wouldn't know about such a thing.

You don't have enough as it stands now?

A leader can never have too many friends. I'm telling you, I'm going to make alliances. And when I return to Facinaturu, I'm going to use them to help us.

Alliances can be as short-lived as the humans you make them with. Keep that in mind in your dealings with them, Asellus.

...I know. I know.

But if we can lose the 'fairy-tale villain' outlook they have on us...
