I loved him talking to his shadow; what a great season 0 reference, where his shadow stretches and leads the way and is extremely, horribly sinister. I like the idea of their first communications being through their shadow and not through thought. Yami no Yuugi seems to have concept of himself seperate from Yuugi in this fic almost immediately, which is interesting - a very different take from my own. I like it! I like the shadow-writing, too.
Yuugi being convinced it's (probably) a dream is a great idea, because I think realizing that Dark Yuugi exists for sure so early on would have immediately broken any care Yuugi might have had for him.
I can't wait to see more! You've made me need (I mean, NEED) to sit down and rewatch season 0, too. XD;; )

I... was not going for sinister, but I guess that works. I absolutely adored that Dark Yuugi could do that in the opening credits of Season 0, but then finding out they *never actually used it* in the show made me sad. Dark Yuugi does a lot of shadow-walking.
(In the first draft, he was actually speaking here, but then I was reading Gunnerkrigg Court and realized that writing? Much cooler.
Hahaha, yes - I don't want to write Victory again, but Yuugi becomes aware of there being something even more off than he previously suspected relatively soon.
*flails* I really want to watch Monster World, gah!

xD I have to say, there was one scene that made me tempted to bash my head into the desk thought (but more out of "Yugi, wtf are you doing?" rather than bad quality, I swear xDD).
"Maybe this was his dream? Yuugi liked flying dreams."
Me: ...Yugi, are you high?
Anyway, great job! *will have to start reading the rest now. Ahahaha. Homework, what homework?*

YAY I love when there is flailing done by people other than me. (after so much flailing my arms get tired)
Well, he's very much fatigued and thinks he's dreaming or hallucinating. Usually when people are tired they act stoned. It's true! As someone who is often tired and has never once used an illicit substance, I am frequently told that I act as though on drugs. It's not cool. It seemed like something he'd think (since he's such a kid at heart).

And yeah, I sort of figured that was the case (that or Yugi is just too trusting for his own good), I just couldn't help laughing at it. "Let's go talk to our shadow! :D"
