Kairi, honey, I have a really important question I need to ask you: have you seen or heard from Balthier lately?

Fran hasn't seen him on campus or heard from him in days and he isn't answering his phone. Is he with you already?

I haven't talked to him a few days... What do you mean she hasn't heard from him? He's not supposed to be here until tomorrow. His plane lands around 5 tomorrow and I'm supposed to meet him at the airport then.

What's going on...?

Kairi, I don't think he's going to be there. There are bounty hunters in town, they have local help, and I think he may be with them now.

You know me though, Kairi. I won't let them kill him. I've got guys all over the place looking, but until I know the local assistance, I can't do too much.

He mentioned rumors of there being bounty hunters in town, but he laughed it off and didn't act worried at all. You'll find him, right? He's going to be okay... he has to be...

He'll be alright. I've got everyone on this, and I have a lot of people at my disposal. We're covering every inch of town, and if I have to violate my parole to get him back safe, I will.

I won't let it come to that unless deathly necessary, though.

Anything from Balthier? No, I haven't heard anything at all. They found his gun today, though. We're pretty sure it's him that was taken last weekend.

I know what that's like and that's what scares me... there are two ways it could go and it's a fine line between them both...

I'm going to try to get some sleep... I don't think it'll happen but its better than sitting here awake and worrying and maybe keeping Namine awake...

If we don't find him in the next week, he's dead. No two ways about it. He's been gone for a week now, anyway, he'll be lucky to have not lost significant amounts of blood.

How many times did it happen to you?

And hang on... oh god, why didn't I think of this before...? Do you have anything of Balthier's with you? Anything he may have touched? If you do, give it to your sister. She may be more help than any of the men I have out on the street, if she can do this...

The first time it happened was a few weeks after they adopted me... I was clueless and had no clue what was going on... how bad is it that I got used to it?

I was maybe four when it first happened to me. My dad supported your dad in a bill a lot of the gangs didn't like. You weren't around back then, and with me being the only child of the two... it happened a few times after that, but once after my mother died. I don't remember so well what happened, but I got out on my own...

The bracelet will work. Give it to her. I don't think I should text you anymore, I feel weird tonight... almost not myself, kinda, if that makes sense...
