To meet indigenous people

Ever have the urge to travel, but not in a tourist way? Just to meet indigenous people in villages and learn from them? Observe their lifestyle, and just ...see things from their point of view? Like, you don't need the "fun," expensive traveling hotels, amusement parks, etc, but you need the conversations with native people and you crave to learn about their perspective, culture, and contemplations. And perhaps live with them for a while? I so want to do this, but I wish there were no language barriers.

My dream job (I'm still researching jobs that include these qualities and haven't found one like this yet) is to be able to travel and meet all kinds of people in the world, especially people with extreme hardships and native people. People untouched by civilization/the media. I wish I could travel to different places consistently and help people out. Kind of like a forever Peace Corps as a job. I don't care how much money I'd make. I don't care about not having a stable life or about marriage. I would give all that up if only I could continuously travel within my job and have all my survival needs. The primary reason I'm concerned about a social worker's paycheck is because I'm worried I might not have enough money to travel.
