hello all! first off, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
its always a long time between posts for me, but this is one of them. hope everyone is well and is looking forward to the new year~!
i just got back from Charleston, nice little town, but the roads are confusing and poorly designed. must have been designed by a citadel graduate.
ok, so i went on a cruise for christmas and the company i sailed with sucked and clicky if you want to know why you should never sail with Norwegian Cruises
ok, so for the most part, it wasn't too bad, aside from the fact that we didn't get to go to one of the ports at caymans, which sucked but its not their fault so i can deal. BUT, on the last day i was on the boat, the generators blew, and they got enough of them up to get the boat moving and the power on. However....the one that controls the air conditioning never became operational again so every floor but the tenth and seventh floors got extreamly hot. the seventh floor was the last one that opens to the outside. and i was on the third floor. as i decended down to my room it got hotter and hotter. Someone said it was 80 something degrees and getting hotter. come night time, people we sleeping in the public areas on the 7th floor, and in stairwells and on deck. people were crowed into groups on the floors and it looked like club med meets the refugee camp. i ended up geting some sleep in my room. it wasn't fun though. but what gets me is what i found ou afterwards, the company has been having problems with that boat for six months. SIX MONTHS! this breakdown wasn't news to the guys who did the maintainence, and they still didn't have the spair parts to fix the generators! now, i was fine sleeping in hot and humid conditions, well not fine, but i wasn't in danger. But what about the little kids, and the old folks on the boat, long exposure to those tempuratures could be dangerous, and the company knew it was a posibility. and the worse part is that the hospitality staff, the attendants, they all had to deal with this stuff too, and they tryed to help as much as they could. i talked to one of the guys and he said that him and another guy ended up sleeping in the gym, on treadmills. freakin' rediculous.
the bottom line, if it ain't broke don't fix it. if its broke, fix it, and if its gona break, don't put 1,600 people on it.
at least i got to go to mexico, that was fun. i figured out that horses don't like me, and that i am quite lucky. i won a bottle of tequilla....long story...
but it was nice, it was a family reunion cruise so i got to see a bunch of my family that i don't normally see so that was nice.
But people, i'm here till the 9th. i miss you guys! we need to get together and do something. riot maybe? i'm accemting better sugestions....
if you need to get in touch, call my home phone 703-313-6701 or lori's celly telly, cause we are stuck together at the hip.
HAPPPY NEW YEAR!!!! yes, there is an extra P. why not?
