[ earlier that day, as he'd been attempting to find something in his mess of a room, he'd stumbled across an old photo album. to be precise, it had fallen and clipped his shoulder, which surprised him, causing him to accidentally misbalance and smash his face into a wall. there's a brilliantly purple-blue bruise on his left cheekbone now. oops

Not really. [ he picks up the book. ] This fell on me and it kinda surprised me. Ahaha.

[Popping her head in the door, Court eyes Jake for a moment, then strolls in to look at the photo album.]

Old pictures, ayuh? ...Any of me in there?

[ he flips to a page from some sort of reuinion -- probably the fourth of july, since it was taken at night and there seems to be fireworks in the background. it's a pretty bad photo because none of them looked ready for it. probably a sneak attack by alfred or something. ]

... I think that's it. It's mostly neighbors in here, ahaha.

[Silently, she breathes a sigh of relief about that. The photo is awful, but she remembers the night that it was taken... the taste of watermelon and the scent of phosphorus.]

Ayuh, I saw Indiana and Michigan.. y'like takin' pictures, Jake?

[Not going to be a snot. She's the one who barged in on him after all... it'd be churlish to be rude.]

To be honest? Not really. I bought a camera a few years back and spent a few months taking tons of photos. [ he laughs a little at this. ] Now I only pull it out on special occasions. Do you?
