No, didn't someone else say something about the people on the roof tops being as good as dead anyway, so it's not so simple as going in and saving them or something?!?!?

And.. I know they were told to get out, and some buses were supplied to take people out (far from enough) and the precautions were taken... BUT, where they taken soon enough? And obviously not enough were taken. Hmmm. I don't entirely blame the government, but I think it's insane to say they aren't responsible (before and especially AFTER) for what has happened.

But people are always going to disagree about this... forever.

Also... it's a big world. I think there is time to 'concentrate on the matter at hand' (I take it you mean everyone should focus on America there?) and battle global warming (which is something we all have to deal with). Over these past years (am talking lifetimes) we're seen the fastest change ever in climate change. That's scary when you consider stuff like the ice age. The weather all around the world is just getting worse and worse... I really hope that I am not in this world when it all comes to head. Barely time goes by before another huge natural disaster occurs. We all moan about it but we're not doing anything.

Clearly the change in climate, is partly because of us humans. And I think we're going to leave it too late... and the outcome isn't going to be good. I know that for a fact. And it is this that scares me more than anything in the world, cause we're not doing future generations any good at all. And I'm being selfish there, hoping it's future generations that have to deal with it... cause personally.. I don't wanna see what we create.

the climate is what scares you most? wow... there have always been hurricanes and it will still be a while before anything horrible happens due to it. I'm not saying we shouldn't do anything about it, I totaly support doing something to fix it. I think the US should have signed that bill that all those other countries called... I can't remember what its called, Kyoto somthing...? Anyway, we didn't sign it b/c it would hurt our economy... I think we should have signed it b/c it would have benifited the world

its hard to rescue the people on roof tops. They are having to lift them out with helicopters.

and I still agree w/ u on the gov part

lol I know.. I was slightly over reacting to the climate change thing, although we are f*cking furute generations over.. and we are gonna destroy parts of the world before it hits us, which sucks!! I think the thing you're on about that you lot didn't sign.. Bush has FINALLY come around to the rest of the worlds way of thinking... or so I heard yesterday, it was an interview with him in late July. After the meeting.

I think Bush has screwed himself over now too now president wise.

Anyway, my last splurge at this topic is the following.. they're points I failed you mention in the rest of my babble.

Sri Lanka (always feel like I'm spelling it wrong) has offered America aid, no? Not that they're in a position to, but they are trying, which I think is good. I read Blair was wanting to send some of our men over, troops or something.... when... the best army/troops/men in the world are in AMERICA! Oh wait.. no they're not.. they're over in Iraq. lol. So the forces you do have to stop the looting, rape and outlaws is only half the size it could be...

Hmmm... and recently the money given to reinforce the levies (something that should have been high on the cards) was diverted by Bush into Iraq. ?! So rather than (possibly) saving Southern American lives, it was deemed more worthy to kill Arabs?! (I don't mean that to offend any of you American's.. it's just a way of seeing things from a different p.o.v)

I read a newsheadline on one of our papers today, where Bush was saying that the aid being given, the help, is not acceptable, which I agree with lol. I took that as Bush kinda agreeing with what I was trying to say in one of those earlier posts. The headline was "3rd World America" - and it was awful. :( The pictures and everything.. I felt sooo gutted. It's hard to think these things could even go on in America, not the hurricane, but these after affects. It's sad.

I can't get my head around how American's can be over in Iraq, dropping bombs and all the rest.. yet aid cannot be dropped into New Orleans?
:(

Anyway, don't shoot me. I am holding back my opinions so much, because I don't wanna offend or come out sounding reallllly bad. :( Which I don't mean to. I think what's happening it terrible.. and it is a really big focus over here now.

I would never shoot you. I compeltely repsect your opinion.

I'm really not in the mood to talk though. But we are dropping aid. And I have heard that countries that can't afford to send much are still trying, which is amazing. I feel kinda bad accepting it though. As for Iraq, you know how I feel about that. And we do still have alot of people here. And that levie money. New Orleans gets money every year for it, but sometimes choses to spend it on other things. And its not like other presidents have spent money on it either. I'm not saying this justifies anything. And what I am saying is not fact, just what I've heard from people I think would nkow, but I'm not positive.

anyway, I don't want to go on. I feel so unlike it right now... but please continue to comment, I <3 your comments
