"Please allow me to introduce myself..." (Open Letter to Dirk)

Have you ever had a character who has nothing to do with your current project stuck in your head and you don't know how to get rid of him?

I've got that.

His name is Beau, and the more I try to silence him the louder he speaks to me.

So far, he's told me his entire life story. He's had various names and aliases throughout his existence, not the least of which was "the Pan". As in Peter Pan. He Says J.M. Barrie got him and the Lost Boys totally wrong and Disney was even worse. He keeps telling me of wars between the Summer and Winter Courts, his time as a punk in mid-Eighties N. Ireland, and how "70% of what Lovecraft wrote is true."

He's made me compose a soundtrack for him on YouTube. I'm drawing pictures of him. I have ideas for stories about him that would be better suited for a BBC series than a comic or a novel, yet he keeps screaming at me to do something with him for NaNoWriMo.

He's like a bad rash that won't go away. Help me shut him up!
