Things I'm thinking about:
Yesterday I saw a family of wild turkeys and an old condemned Catholic Church on a reservation that gave me the willies. Also, a residential school that's been converted into a fancy casino and resort, but that nonetheless also gave me the willies. I saw a lot of other things too and learned a lot.
I'm rereading To Kill a Mockingbird.
The Virginia Creeper on our front porch is turning red and we're just hoping all our tomatoes are ripe before the frost comes. It is coming. Soon.
I went to the free store at the Women's Centre and found a whole bunch of old lady sweaters and blouses and am feeling very much impressed with myself for all the free things and bargains I've been claiming lately and for how stylish I can make tacky sweaters look just by wearing them.
I feel such glory in finding free or cheap things. I am a salvager, I come from salvagers. For about a week I kept proudly/lovingly stroking and showing off to anyone who came over my like-new red Coleman Picnic cooler that I got for free at the Balfour dump. It has a compartment on the top and is the biggest, bestest cooler ever known.
