Japan report - Week 2
DAY 8
Monday, Jan 4th, 2010
I would start my second week by meeting my friend Mariko for the first time. We were supposed to meet 1pm at Hachiko. The day before I had tried to recharge the battery of my cellphone. I had an adapter with me and I had recharged it without problems at Kumiko's before, but this time the phone zipped and I couldn't open it anymore. Idk what happened, but no matter what I tried, it didn't open. So I was without a phone, AND without an alarm clock. On Monday morning I woke up around 7, and was too afraid to continue sleeping without an alarm, so I just stayed up and watched TV. I left around 12, and made it well in time to Hachiko. However, I didn't see Mariko anywhere. I was a bit worried if we'd find each other, since it was the first time we'd meet. I waited around 20 minutes, before she arrived and apologized, but she had to go to the hospital. I was just relieved we found each other!
We were supposed to go check Johnny's Family Club (she's a JE fan too), but I forgot to take the instructions with me, and she didn't know the exact way there either, so in the end we didn't find it and decided to go some other time. When coming back towards the station I saw one more Hidarime ad for the first time! I flailed so badly, and... she laughed :( But it was so pretty.
We were both hungry, so we just headed to the nearest Mcdonald's to eat XD I gave her my souvenirs, including salmiakki and as I had guessed, her face was quite priceless when she tried it XD After finishing lunch we went to purikura, but it turned out awful at my part (idk how I managed to do that!) so I'm not releasing it here XD Next up was karaoke, of course. We were both feeling a bit awkward, but karaoke really helped us both loosen up, the mood was totally different afterwards! We had so much fun, we sang a lot of JE songs individually and together :D After that we just hanged around at Shibuya, went to some shops, had a coffee at Starbucks (I love sitting on the second floor just staring at the Yamada-ads...) and ALSO went to buy me an alarm clock -___-
After getting back to the hostel, there was SMAPxSMAP SP with KAT-TUN on TV, so of course I watched it :D They were all on crack.
DAY 9
Tuesday, Jan 5th, 2010
This would be the day of my second JUMP concert. Luckily now I already had the goods, so I wouldn't have to wake up as early. The concert would start at 13.30, so I went to Shin Yokohama around 12. This would be my worst seat out of these 3, it was on the 3rd floor, but I knew from the previous concert that Yamada would come to that block for one song, so I was excited and nervous. Also, this time I would see the show as a whole a bit better, so there's no way I would've not gone to this show.
I won't write more for now, because I previously made a post about the important things of the con :D HERE. YAMADA FAIL ♥♥♥ Still my favourite memory XD
DAY 10

Third and last day of JUMP concert. This would be the best seat ever, so I woke up early to have enough time to get ready, so that I would look perfect just in case XD The concert would start at 12, so I woke up around 7, ate, checked my e-mail, did my hair and make up and got ready before heading to Shin Yokohama for the last time.
When one of the staff members lead me to my place, I was about to pass out, because I was on the second row on the left side of the main stage. I couldn't believe where I was, and I still can't believe it happened, that I was that close, saw everyone and everything perfectly. The concert was the best thing ever, and Chinen's kiss has to be one of the highlights of my whole life. ♥♥♥ Sorry Shige, but your peace is not much compared to this !

Since the concert had started so early, it already ended around 3.30pm, so I still had a lot of time for the day. But I felt too flaily to do anything else, so I just got back to the hostel to flail, and also to write the conrepo before I forget something important XD I remembered the tracklist almost wholly after the 2nd con, but there were still a few songs I wasn't sure when they were, so the 3rd confirmed them XD
In the evening there was Cartoon KAT-TUN's Adult rules SP on TV, and I watched it. ♥
DAY 11
Thursday, Jan 7th, 2010
I knew that on this day new magazines (Wink up/Duet/Potato) would be released, with Yamada covers and posters, so I was excited! So quite quickly after I had woken up I headed to Tower Records in Shibuya to buy them (I would've for sure found them closer too, but I really wanted to go to Shibuya XD) I flailed so hard after I saw the magazines, but I decided not to look inside yet. I also found Bandage photobook, which I didn't even know would be released, and just bought it without thinking XD
I didn't have any plans for today, and I was a bit sick so I just decided to get back to the hostel to rest. A few days before I had started feeling a bit flu-ish, and now it had got worse. I didn't have fever or anything, but my nose was running like crazy and I was coughing. I didn't have a mask either, so I felt awkward in trains at this state, since it's not polite to cough in public. Well, I had had so much to do this far that a day of rest would be fine. So I just stayed at the hostel watching TV and staring at the magazines and ohh the posters ♥
DAY 12
Friday, Jan 8th, 2010
The worst flu had got over! I met Kumiko at Ueno station around 12 and we headed to Odaiba. I didn't eat anything for breakfast, so firsly there we found a restaurant to eat in. We had soba! After finishing, we went around this shopping center called Venus Fort, it's designed like some old European town, it was really nice.
Kumiko likes F1 and cars, so we also visited some car...place, where she used to work at. There were lots of cars, F1 stuff and games you could try. Outside there was a huge ferris wheel I wanted to go to, but in the end we didn't D: We checked some game center, and I tried to get Kumiko into a hounted house, but she refused XD Also, eww eww there were some random ugly Finnish dudes! Suddenly I just heard Finnish and went o___O "Let's get away!" But Kumiko likes Finland, so she wanted to follow them to listen to them speak XD So we stalked them for a bit lol.
Next up was Fuji TV. In case you can't tell, that thing in the stairs in the second pic is an ad for Arashi's drama SP! Yes, in the stairs! XD When we walked them down, everyone was looking at our direction and taking pictures and we had a total wtf moment. When we turned around, we noticed there's something in the stairs XD
And here's a proof Kumiko went to Fuji that day XD She took a similar picture of me too, but I don't have it atm and I wouldn't even post it because it was hideous XD I'm so not photogenic.
There were a little shops that had goods related to Fuji's tv shows and dramas, and the walls were full of posters. And then I saw something I least expected: YAMADA.
There were also settings for the tv shows, like SMAPxSMAP's Bistro SMAP props, and you could take pictures of yourself in them, but I didn't D: Also, there were studios there, and apparently you can go watch a filming from the windows up there. At that day there weren't any filming, but we saw Hexagon's studio, and some staff dudes were doing something in there. xP
The building also had an observation deck! You could also see Mount Fuji from there, but it was cloudy that day, so we couldn't. But I took pictures :D
Outside there's also a mini version of the Statue of Liberty XD For a little while I felt like I was in New York instead, lol.
I suddenly started craving for ice cream (even though it was kind of cold!) so we went to a big shopping center to find ice cream. After eating we started walking around a bit, and found Bandage ads!
I think there was a movie theater in the building. There was also a little shop that sold movie goods, it also had several Bandage-related magazines.
After flailing we decided to head back to Tokyo. Kumiko asked, if I wanted to go to Nittele tower again, and since we were gonna go through that station anyway, I said yes. The shop didn't have anything new, but outside there now was an ad of Hidarime! And oh my god it was gorgeous. Inside the station there was a BIGGER one of the same ad, and I think I died because of the prettiness.
So. Yeah. We just ended up standing there for a while, just staring. Well okay I was the one staring and swooning over it, and Kumiko was the one laughing at me.
We had planned before that we would go to a club in the evening. It would open at 8pm, but we thought nothing would really happen before midnight. So we decided to go back to hostel/home for a few hours, and then meet around 9 and go to Roppongi, and then see what to do.
And so we did. We took a metro to Roppongi after 9, and started looking for the place. There were a LOT of black guys going all "hey gurrlls come to our club!" and just didn't leave us alone, it was so annoying. After walking around a bit we found the place. It was still really early, but we thought that if we went someplace else, we wouldn't find back anymore XD So we just stood outside, wondering what to do. There were some Swedish dudes who went in and I was all eww noo. In the end it was a bit after 10, but we still stood out there. We were both nervous, me because I've never been to a club in Japan, and Kumiko because she's been to a club only once, and it was when she was in the US. I was the braver one for once XD I had to courage her by saying "If the Swedish dudes can do it, so can we!" In the end we just walked in... and the Swedish dudes were the only ones there!! We cracked up so hard XD So well, yeah, it wasn't that scary. And the place was SO small it could've been the local club here!
So, there we were in an almost empty club. We knew not much would happen before midnight but... really, nothing happened. XD There were a few cute Japanese boys who came in quite quickly after us though, and then some not so cute, and then some hideous groups of Western chicks. We felt a bit hungry, and as you can also get food from there, we ordered something. I got a pizza, and omg it was sooo delicious! Around midnight more people started coming in, and it started getting crowded. The music was really loud, so we couldn't talk much. I could've easily entertained myself by checking out the boys there, but Kumiko didn't like being there, so I felt uncomfortable too. I didn't want to leave so early, but I didn't want her to bore to death, so we went closer to the entrance, where there was a little hall and walls full of pictures of celebrities who have been there. It was also more quiet there, so we could talk, but still see people. Haha about the pictures, it was so funny, there was a pic of Jet Li, and this Japanese dude jumped there and yelled "JETTO RII!" XD Oh, engrish. Then he kept repeating it and I tried to keep a normal face.
As it was more quiet, we started talking a lot. I also teached her some basic Finnish sentences, like "Hi, how are you?" After a while some Finnish people came in and I went all "oh no no no" again, and Kumiko got excited XD They were talking loudly in Finnish, and on the top of everything, one girl from the group (she was Asian though) asked ME to take a picture of THEM. Kumiko was about to crack up when I did. The Finnish dudes even yelled "MUIKKU!" which is what the Finns say instead of "Cheese." I don't know if they noticed my face when I was about to burst out laughing, I just quickly gave back the camera and turned around. It would've been interesting if I would've just said "You know, I'm also from Finland" to them in Finnish XD Kumiko threatened to go to them to say all the Finnish sentences I had just teached XD That would've been priceless! But she didn't lol. I also teached her to say "ihkuraksupoksunaksu" (only Finnish people will know this), and it was so funny! XDD
Around 2.30 I felt that I can't keep Kumiko there anymore, so we decided to go to karaoke or something. We walked around to find some karaoke place, but they were all so expencive! Also in the street we met some salarymen who started talking to us XD Actually twice, and the conversation was the same both times. "Where are you going?" "To karaoke." "We should go together!" "I don't think so." "What are you going to sing?" "Johnny's!" "Oh really? Who do you like, Arashi?" "Hey!Say!JUMP, NEWS and KAT-TUN." "Oh, Hey!Say!Jump, they're young. Who do you like?" "Yamada Ryosuke!" "Oh, Yamada. You know, this guy used to be a Johnny. *points to one of the dudes*" "Yes, of course." "Really." "I believe you." "I am Yamapi." "I can see that." XD Seriously! Well only the others said the Yamapi thing, but the other dudes had that I was a Johnny-joke too. In the end we ended up in front of some expencive karaoke place, and started wondering if we should give up on karaoke or walk to Shibuya XD Neither didn't really sound good. Then there was some salaryman in his 40's or so, that came to talk to us and said that he wants to go to karaoke too, but it's boring alone XD After chatting a bit, he promised to pay most so we just said okay XD The dude was funny, he wasn't some weirdo. Well maybe a bit. But I promised Kumiko I'd kick his butt if he tried something. So, we got in, the dude went into a wrong room twice (we sure wondered why they'd give us a room big enough to fit 20 people XD) until we found our own. And then we just sang. :D That dude was so bad though, my ears almost broke. But oh well XD
We sang for about an hour before it was finally around 5 and the trains would start moving. I was supposed to go to Kumiko's to rest, as I wouldn't get to my hostel before 7 because I didn't ask for a key. But in the end the metro ride+train ride to Kumiko's home station took until 6.30am, so I decided to get back to the train after all and go to my hostel, because it would take half an hour anyway.
DAY 13
Saturday, Jan 9th, 2010
So, it was right after 7am when I got back to my hostel. Right when I got in, in the lobby there was a man and a woman, and as I started taking of my shoes, I heard them talk in Finnish! So I stood up, stared at them for a few seconds with a "o___O"-face and said: "Finnish!" They laughed and we started talking a bit. They were nice.
I quickly checked my e-mail, and then just quickly went to bed. I was so tired, since I hadn't slept whole night AND walked that whole night in heels XD I was supposed to meet Mariko at that day, but she had to cancel so I didn't have plans after all. I was so tired, I decided to just sleep XD So this would be another day for resting.
DAY 14
Sunday, Jan 10th, 2010
I was supposed to meet Ruriko on this day, but even in the morning I wasn't sure if we would meet or not, and what time. I woke up quite early to mail her, and waited for her reply. In the meanwhile I went back to my room to watch School Kakumei ! 8D
After SK I got back to the computer to see if there was a reply. Yes. She just answered that she has to cancel. I was a bit annoyed, because I couldn't get anyone else to hang out with my on such short notice, and I didn't want another day of just doing nothing. I felt like I was just wasting the little time that I had. But I didn't really have any places I wanted to go, that would be fun alone.
So. *coughs* I decided to go JE shopping to Nakano XD I had planned that I would go back there on one of the last days, when I would know how much money I'd have left and how much I would afford. I really could've spent my last money on those shops XD
In the end I didn't buy that much, I was saving up for the last day XD I got one old Duet (NYC boys era), accidentally bought Yamada's Summary-uchiwa because I came across it and it was pretty, and also found Haruma's photobook in a bookstore. ^___^
So yeah, I have to say that cheered me up :D
On the last part about 3rd week I will talk about my trip to Kyoto and Osaka, magazine hunt, meeting one more friend, brain zip, train!crush and making myself proud. :)

We sang for about an hour before it was finally around 5 and the trains would start moving. I was supposed to go to Kumiko's to rest, as I wouldn't get to my hostel before 7 because I didn't ask for a key. But in the end the metro ride+train ride to Kumiko's home station took until 6.30am, so I decided to get back to the train after all and go to my hostel, because it would take half an hour anyway.
DAY 13
Saturday, Jan 9th, 2010
So, it was right after 7am when I got back to my hostel. Right when I got in, in the lobby there was a man and a woman, and as I started taking of my shoes, I heard them talk in Finnish! So I stood up, stared at them for a few seconds with a "o___O"-face and said: "Finnish!" They laughed and we started talking a bit. They were nice.
I quickly checked my e-mail, and then just quickly went to bed. I was so tired, since I hadn't slept whole night AND walked that whole night in heels XD I was supposed to meet Mariko at that day, but she had to cancel so I didn't have plans after all. I was so tired, I decided to just sleep XD So this would be another day for resting.
DAY 14
Sunday, Jan 10th, 2010
I was supposed to meet Ruriko on this day, but even in the morning I wasn't sure if we would meet or not, and what time. I woke up quite early to mail her, and waited for her reply. In the meanwhile I went back to my room to watch School Kakumei ! 8D
After SK I got back to the computer to see if there was a reply. Yes. She just answered that she has to cancel. I was a bit annoyed, because I couldn't get anyone else to hang out with my on such short notice, and I didn't want another day of just doing nothing. I felt like I was just wasting the little time that I had. But I didn't really have any places I wanted to go, that would be fun alone.
So. *coughs* I decided to go JE shopping to Nakano XD I had planned that I would go back there on one of the last days, when I would know how much money I'd have left and how much I would afford. I really could've spent my last money on those shops XD
In the end I didn't buy that much, I was saving up for the last day XD I got one old Duet (NYC boys era), accidentally bought Yamada's Summary-uchiwa because I came across it and it was pretty, and also found Haruma's photobook in a bookstore. ^___^
So yeah, I have to say that cheered me up :D
On the last part about 3rd week I will talk about my trip to Kyoto and Osaka, magazine hunt, meeting one more friend, brain zip, train!crush and making myself proud. :)
