I live in a really secluded area of Missouri, so if these aren't really "rare", that could be why. :-/
I see that Pirates of Dark Water has been mentioned, but it's definitely one of my favorite cartoons. I was so stoked when I found out that Tim Curry did voice acting for it! I'd have to say my favorite character from that series was Ioz, but oh how I miss the monkey bird! They just don't make 'em like they used to.
Does anyone remember Lady Lovely Locks? It came out in 1988, and I grew up watching it. I still have the tape, but alas, it doesn't work anymore. I don't know if it was ever a series, and I can't really remember a whole lot about it. I just remember I liked the "bad" girl better because she had dark hair. The little animals were adorable, too.
And, out of curiosity, has anyone seen the Enchanted Family Classics version of Cinderella? I can't find it on IMDB. Cinderella's name was Margaret, and it wasn't animated.
