a spin-off of docotor who deals with the Tourchwood institute a croup started by queen elizabeth the 1st after meeting The Doctor. its mission was at that time to protect the british empire from alein invation. after the battle of canary warf the orginasation was scaled back, now under the comand of Capt Jack Harkness the group is trying to prepare man kind for whats to come.
"the 21st century is when it all changes we have to be ready."
Unfortuanatly do to its more adult story, the fact that Sci-fi channel has first shot at it , and the fact that if they don't pick it up no one else will(no one will want to buy a property thats a spin off of a show owned by a diffrent network) it can only be seen in the US on tv streming sites
btw the name tourchwood is an acronim of Doctor Who and was used as the code name for the serie 1 during production
