Okay, just found this comm and looked through all the posts, so here's some "obscure" stuff I love. I do hope that some of you will know what the heck I'm talking about. *grin*
Princess Knight: Japanese animated series from the late 60s. I used to watch this when I was very young--about 5--and I have very fond memories of it to this day. About a princess who pretended to be a boy most of the time.
Peter Pan no Boken: Also known as Adventures of Peter Pan. Another Japanese animated series that tells the story of Peter Pan but which goes on to add more characters and storylines. Luna was my favorite.
Jim Henson's The Storyteller: There were two incarnations of this, one about Greek myths (featuring 4 episodes) and the other about European fables (featuring 9 episodes). Wonderful in tone and imagery, dark and beautiful.
Cupid: A clever, witty, awesome TV show created by Rob Thomas (of Veronica Mars fame) and starring Jeremy Piven. Ran for less than one whole season. Pity. :-(
Eerie, Indiana: Another awesome show that was cancelled too soon. Alternately funny and serious, the show revolves around a boy who moves to the town of Eerie with his family and is faced with bizarre scenarios in every episode.
