Blackpool
This was a FANTASTIC miniseries. And I was wondering if anyone else is a fan? Have you ever seen fanfiction on it? It has a lot of potential.
Also I'd like to recommend that people watch it. It's on youtube. Just search for 'Blackpool episode one first part' 'blackpool episode two second part' etc.
Blackpool is a crime/drama/thriller/romance/comedy/musical miniseries, about a rather dodgy man called Ripley Holden who wants to start up a casino hotel, and finds a body on his amusement arcade floor one day. There's also neglected trophy wife, Natalie Holden, Danny Holden who is a nice boy but getting in trouble with the law and drugs, Shyanne Holden who is in love with a man her father's age, Peter Carlisle who is investigating the murder and falls for Natalie, a prostitute character, a man who is protesting the casino, various friends of Ripley, another policeman called Blythe, etc. And they randomly sing. But it's not 'musical' in the old fashioned way... it's a different way. Like karaoke. They sing along /dance along (not always dancing) with another song that's already been done. So the sound track is really really good. It has themes of 'good guys/bad guys' and what makes them, there's the murder, the romance, the ... 'ooo what's going to happen now??' aspect... it's just fantastic.
It's 6 hours long, and the first time through I watched about 4 hours in one go.

Oh and, it has David Tennant in it as Peter Carlisle, and most of the other actors I've now seen in other things too.
