Ys

For Fandom Fortnight, I'd like to make an entry for a rather obscure action RPG series called Ys.

Ys is a well-established series - the first game, Ancient Ys Vanished, was released in 1987. Unfortunately, it never got the popularity it deserves outside of Japan, due to different factors (such as several games not being originally released for popular consoles or remakes never being widely released.)
There are currently seven main games, along with several spinoffs and even an anime series.
I got into the series relatively late through Ys VI, The Ark of Napishtim, which was released for the Playstation 2 few years ago.

Adol Christin, the hero of the series, is a young man who is famous for his excellent swordsmanship and his bright red hair. He never stays in one place for long, traveling across the world in search of new adventures. He also has horrible luck at sea - he often with him gets shipwrecked and washes up onshore (usually nursed back to health by the lead female! So maybe he has good luck, depending on your perspective.)

I also wanted to share the first fan video I've ever done, made from several of the game intros. I still have a lot to learn (how to avoid such abrupt endings, for example, and adjust the sound better), but I hope you enjoy it.
